Former star basketball player Dennis Rodman is the latest sports figure to be portrayed on a new series of trading coins created by Celebrity Mint™ (www.CelebrityMint.com) of Houston, Texas. The one-ounce .999 silver Rodman coins will make their debut at the American Numismatic Association 2025 Oklahoma City World’s Fair of Money® (www.WorldsFairofMoney.com), Aug. 19-23.

An earlier Mike Tyson gold trading coin made nationwide headlines and attracted millions of views on social media when it was presented to Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO and President Dana White. He subsequently revealed that it now has a prominent place of honor in his office as part of his $2 million trading card collection.
"Resembling trading cards, the innovative trading coin concept is pioneering a new era in the collectibles and memorabilia industry by introducing the world’s first legal tender precious metal minted trading coins shaped as cards," said Celebrity Mint co-founder Kenny Duncan Jr. "All of our recent releases featuring champion boxer Mike Tyson, legendary wrestler Ric Flair, football star AJ Dillon, basketball star Jamal Shead, and baseball’s hit king Pete Rose quickly sold out," Duncan stated.
The latest $5 legal tender Cook Islands trading coin on one side depicts Rodman jumping for a layup shot with his handwritten autograph on the card. The other side of the coin is Rodman with his head lowered, his name and nickname, "The Worm." The mintage is limited to only 400, with several color variations produced.

The artwork for the Rodman project was created by acclaimed trading card designer Tyson Beck. Beck, known by many in the trading card industry for his work featuring Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, and more, took his first shot at a coin design. He believes it will be as successful as his trading card releases that routinely sell out in three minutes or less worldwide.
"Superbly engraved and struck by CIT Coin Invest, this limited series of rare coins featuring Dennis Rodman turned his legacy into collectible works of art," said Beck.
In a recent streaming video for Complex’s "On Display" program, UFC executive White showcased his .5 gram gold Mike Tyson trading coin proudly displayed alongside more than $2 million of historic sports cards of icons such as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Tiger Woods.

"It highlights the evolving intersection of sports memorabilia and numismatics, underscoring how unique collectibles from companies like Celebrity Mint are gaining widespread recognition alongside traditional cards," Duncan stated.
The new Rodman coin will be on view by Celebrity Mint at the U.S. Coins booth, #828, during the ANA show in the Oklahoma City Convention Center. The price per coin is $299.99 while supplies last.
Founded in 2023 by brothers Kenny Duncan Jr. and Matthew Duncan, Celebrity Mint is a division of The Duncan Group in Houston that includes U.S. Coins and Jewelry (www.USCoinsandJewelry.com).
