US Mint Sales: 2019 American Liberty High Reliefs and 2018 Reverse Proof $1 Debut

The United States Mint released five products last week and they saw varied degrees of support, ranking from first to 11th on the weekly list of top U.S. Mint sellers.

2018-S Reverse Proof American Innovation $1 Coin

Most sought after was the 2018-dated reverse proof American Innovation dollar. The $1 coin launched Aug. 14 for $9.95 and lasted barely over a day before becoming unavailable. Mint stats have the collectible at 71,184 of its allotted 75,000.

Registering second on the list was the high relief American Liberty 2.5-ounce silver medal for $99.95. Released Aug. 15 along with the 2019-W $100 American Liberty gold coin, the silver medal logged four-day starting sells of 15,882 for 31.8% of its 50,000 maximum.

The premium 1-ounce American Liberty gold coin, priced at $1,940 when released, ranked fourth strongest with sales of 4,948 for 9.9% of its 50,000 mintage.

The Mint’s 2019 holiday ornaments followed in positions 8 and 11 with the main ornament starting with sales of 3,004 and the child-themed ornament opening with sales of 2,123. Each debuted Aug. 13 for $24.95.

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 165 numismatic products. Thirty-five outperformed their prior weekly gains compared to 62 previously. Not counting the new products so as to compare apples to apples, 10 products increased by more than 1,000 against 7 previously.

In addition, 1 product saw its sales reduced just like in the prior report. In this round, the 2018-W Uncirculated Silver Eagle total was reduced by 1 unit.
