The Perth Mint of Australia for March offers a range of uniquely themed coins in multiple compositions and finishes.

Leading the charge was a new antiqued silver coin bearing a design emblematic of Odin, the first release in the new Norse Gods series. We wrote about this coin earlier in the week, and there is no surprise that it sold out quickly.
Still for sale are collectibles to include a Great White Shark Australian Map-Shaped Coin, new ANZAC gold and aluminum bronze issues, gold and silver coins marking the centennial of the Returned & Services League, a new Tiger Cubs silver coin, and a 100th anniversary of Gumnut Babies Stamp and Coin Cover.

2016 Anzac $1 Coin in Card
A Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicle alongside a bugler in silhouette is depicted on the reverse of this new Anzac $1 coin. Inscribed on the design is "Lest We Forget" and "April 25" to remind all of Anzac Day.

Each aluminum bronze coin is attached to an illustrated display card, featuring a fold-out stand for upright display. Mintage of this uncirculated coin is unlimited.

2016 $1 Great White Shark Australian Map-Shaped Silver Coin
Appearing as the ninth release in the Perth Mint’s Australian Map Shaped Coin Series, this latest issue features a colored reverse design of a Great White Shark. The shark is swimming in the ocean with a shipwreck in the background.

Each 99.9% pure silver coin includes a numbered certificate of authenticity and ships within a Perth Mint display case. Mintage is capped at 6,000 for the release.

2016 RSL Centenary Gold and Silver Proof Coins
The RSL (Returned & Services League) was founded in Australia in 1916 with the centennial of that formation commemorated by a new 1/4 oz gold and 1 oz silver coin. Both feature reverse designs showcasing the RSL badge and are struck in proof quality.


Mintage for the 99.99% pure gold coin is 1,000. Up to 5,000 of the 99.9% pure silver coins will be sold. A numbered certificate of authenticity and an illustrated shipper accompanies each purchase.
2016 $25 Anzac Day 100 Years 1/4 oz Gold Proof Coin
The Perth Mint has also released the Anzac Day 100 Years 1/4 oz Gold Proof Coin as part of its Anzac Spirit 100th Anniversary Coin series.

Appearing on the 99.99% pure gold coin’s reverse is an Australian soldier leaning on his gun with his head bowed. Maximum mintage for the proof coin is 1,000.

2016 50c Tiger Cubs 1/2 oz Silver Proof Coin
The Perth Mint introduces a new five-coin, 1/2 oz silver cubs series with the release of the proof 2016 Tiger Cubs coin. Seen on the reverse is a colored design of two tiger cubs as they play in the grass. Mintage for this 99.9% pure silver coin is 5,000.

Future coins of the program will showcase jaguar, leopard, white lion and lynx cubs.

2016 Gumnut Babies 100th Anniversary Stamp and Coin Cover
Another centennial celebration is marked with the 100th Anniversary of Gumnut Babies Stamp and Coin Cover. The aluminum bronze coin’s reverse depicts two Gumnut Babies sitting amongst native flowers.

This coin is presented in a card featuring a variety of characters from May Gibbs’ Gumnut Babies. The envelope has a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs. Affixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post $1 stamp. Mintage of this product is unlimited.

2016 $1 Deadly and Dangerous Death Adder 1 oz Silver Proof Coin
The eleventh coin in the Perth Mint’s Deadly and Dangerous series showcases a reverse design of the Death Adder snake. The snake can be seen in a pose as if it is about to strike.

No more than 5,000 of the silver coins will be issued. Each is composed of 1 oz of .999 fine silver and to a proof quality. This coin is legal tender of Tuvalu.
