Regency Auction XIV Realizes Nearly $5 Million

The fourteenth Regency Auction, held Oct. 15 in conjunction with the PCGS Members Only Show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, brought a packed house and furious bidding, according to Legend Rare Coin Auctions.

This 1919-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar, graded PCGS MS65, realized $205,625.

Anchored by significant numbers from the Coronet Collection and Gulf Coast Collection with their high-profile Morgan Dollars, the sale realized $4,926,775.10 with buyer’s premium.

"PCGS Registry Set trophy coins highlighted the stellar results," said Julie Abrams, Legend Rare Coin Auctions president. "Especially noteworthy were the 1919-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar, which brought just over $200,000.00, the 1894 Coronet Collection Morgan, which ended up at over $150,000.00, and of course the 1901 Morgan Dollar from the Coronet Collection."

The 1901 Morgan Dollar was the most expensive coin Legend Rare Coin Auctions auctioned to date, the company said, realizing $587,500.00.

Of the auction’s nearly $5 million total, the 32 Coronet Collection coins accounted for 49%.
