The Perth Mint of Australia has twelve new products for September with subjects, compositions and coin sizes varied to interest almost any collector.
Among the new releases are lunar gold and silver 2015 Year of the Goat coins. They are joined by coins depicting an abalone shell, masked owls and superpowers. In addition, September marks the debut of a new series of Perth Mint dinosaur coins.

2015 Year of the Goat Gold Proof Coins
Depicting a single adult male goat, three 2015 Year of the Goat Gold Proof Coins are available in 1 ounce, a 1/4 ounce and 1/10 ounce sizes. These three 99.99% pure lunar gold coins are also sold as part of set.
Sets are limited to 1,500 while the coins have mintages ranging from 3,000 to 5,000.
An oval-shaped display case with a glossy timber-effect lid accompanies each purchase. A certificate of authenticity is also included.
Initial pricing for the set is AUS $3,271.82, or US $3,052.36. Other prices are $2,450.00, or US $2,285.66, for the 1 ounce coin, $631.82, or US $589.44, for the 1/4 ounce coin and $271.82, or US $253.59, for the 1/10 ounce coin.
2015 Year of the Goat Silver Proof Coins
Also available are 2015 Year of the Goat Silver Proof Coins. Shown on reverses is a family of three goats set against a rural scene.
These strikes are each composed of 99.9% pure silver. They are available in 1 kilo, 1 ounce and 1/2 ounce sizes with issue limits of 500, 5,000 and 8,000. A three-coin set may also be purchased which includes the 1 ounce, the 1/2 ounce, plus a 2 ounce. The limit of the set is capped at 1,000.
The individual coins and the set are shipped in red and black Perth Mint display cases. The three-coin set is AUS $318.18, or US $296.84. The individual coins are AUS $1,590.91, or US $1,484.20, AUS $90.00 or US $83.96, and AUS $57.73, or US $53.86.
2014 Australian Opal Masked Owl Silver Coin
Offered as the sixth release in the Australian Opal series, the Perth Mint has introduced the 2014 Masked Owl Silver Proof Coin. Like previous program issues, the reverse incorporates an inner panel of pure Australian opal.
The opal panel for this coin features the likeness of an Australian Masked Owl. Its mintage is set at 8,000.
Every coin comes in a unique Perth Mint display case which includes a built-in light that shines down on the coin as the case is opened. Pricing is AUS $104.55, or US $97.67.
2014 Australovenator Silver Coin from Australian Age of Dinosaurs Series
The 2014 Australovenator Silver Proof Coin marks the debut of a new five-coin series featuring Australian dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period. This first coin offers a colored reverse depicting the Australovenator.
Mintage limit for the coin is set at 5,000. Each comes in a black Perth Mint display case with an illustrated shipper and a certificate of authenticity. Pricing is AUS $90.00, or US $83.96.
2014 Australian Abalone Shell Silver Proof Coin
Continuing the Perth Mint’s tradition of offering unique and innovative products, the 2014 Australian Abalone Shell Silver Proof Coin offers a sculpted representation of an abalone shell along with a centerpiece of a polished fragment of a real abalone shell.
No more than 5,000 of these coins will be issued to the public. Each ships in a Perth Mint display case with a certificate of authenticity.
2014 Young Collectors Superpowers Series Weather Control Coin
The 2014 Young Collectors Superpowers Series Weather Control Coin is the fifth of six coins in a program dedicated to the concept of superpowers. The reverse offers a colored design of a superhero as he uses his power to generate lightning.
This coin has an unlimited mintage. Each is attached to an illustrated presentation card. Pricing is AUS $13.59, or US $12.68.
