Australian sales of bullion gold and silver declined to a three-month low in July, according to the latest sales figures from the Perth Mint of Australia.

Bullion sales dropped along with London gold and silver fixings which logged July losses of 2.3% and 0.9%.

July sales of Perth Mint gold coins and gold bars at 25,103 ounces slipped 36.3% from June and fell 55.6% from the same time last year when gold and silver prices soared. Sales of Perth Mint silver coins and silver bars at 577,988 ounces dipped 1.4% from the previous month and fell 17.1% from July 2013. Gold and silver sales for the month were the weakest since April. In June, bullion sales were mixed from the previous month with gold figures higher and silver figures lowers.

U.S. Mint Bullion Sales in July

In other world mint bullion news, the U.S. Mint also logged weaker monthly sales for its gold and silver coins.

American Silver Eagle sales at 1.975 million ounces in July fell 26.6% from the prior month and declined 55.2% from the same period last year. July sales of 2014 America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coins rose by just 10,000 ounces compared to 107,000 ounces in June.

American Gold Eagle sales at 30,000 ounces in July tumbled 37.1% from June and declined 40.6% from the same time last year. Finally, U.S. Mint sales of its American Buffalo gold coins at 5,500 ounces in July for the lowest monthly total since July 2012.
