US Mint Coin Production: 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters Struck in...
The United States Mint this morning released coin production figures for March, and for the first time this year circulating 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters were struck. Also minted were additional Lincoln cents, Native American Dollars and Presidential $1 Coins.

The U.S. Mint nearly doubled production in March with 384.42 million coins as compared to the February total of 194.40 million. (218.41 were minted in January.) Aside from the already mentioned quarter additions, other differences between the two months include:

Boy Scouts Coin Sales Hit 76% of Maximum, Values Top $100
The 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars premiered from the US Mint just two weeks ago and not surprisingly, mintage limits are fast approaching and the secondary market is already seeing a decent trade in these commemorative strikes.
Customers were initially able to place orders for the Boy Scout coins beginning on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. The first few hours of availability due to demand saw troublesome issues for those trying to complete their transactions, both via the Mint's website and through the Mint's telephone ordering system.
This did not hamper sales much, with more than 200,000 sold in 4 days. The latest Mint's sales figures as of Sunday, April 4, show an astonishing 266,517 of the pieces were sold, with 179,976 proof and 86,541 uncirculated for a weekly increase of 51,844. More than 76 percent of the maximum authorized mintage are now gone.
US Government Prints 605.9 Million Notes in March 2010
The US government printed more money in March than in any previous month in 2010, according to the agency responsible for manufacturing US currency. The value of the notes printed also peaked.
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) on Friday released the latest production figures for March which show it made $1s, $5s, $20s and $100s during the month -- the same denominations as in February.
Combined, the BEP produced 605,952,000 banknotes that had a total value of $22,138,240,000. In contrast, February figures came in at 504.476 million notes for just over $14.098 billion while January registered 487 million notes worth just above $14.1 billion.

America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins, Program Information & Release Dates
The United States Mint will issue a new series of coins in 2010 that are composed of silver and depict American National Parks and National Sites.
These coins are not the collector versions of the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters. They are, however, similar in name as they are called America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins and they share the same reverse designs.
Both new U.S. Mint coin series, the America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program and the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ Program, are authorized by the America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin Act of 2008. The act was signed into Public Law 110-456 by former President Bush on December 23, 2008.
