Gold, silver and platinum futures declined Tuesday. Palladium, meanwhile, bounced 0.4% after falling 2.1% on Monday. Gold’s loss brought prices down to an almost four-month low.

Gold for June delivery declined $4.40, or 0.3%, to finish at $1,273.20 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. The settlement was the weakest for a most active contract since the close at $1,273 an ounce on Dec. 26.

"Growth worries that had weighed on risk sentiment and supported gold have largely faded," Reuters quoted Julius Baer analyst Carsten Menke, adding sentiment in financial markets was positive.

"That’s why the positioning on gold is also turning towards the negative side and we have not seen any inflows in exchange traded gold products."
