US Mint Sales: 2019 Native American Dollar Debuts

The latest batch of United States Mint sales figures shows first results for the recently released 2019 Native American dollar.

Native American $1 Coins showcase annually changing reverses. This year’s design is spaced-themed, depicting engineer Mary Golda Ross working on aerospace calculations with an Atlas-Agena rocket in the background and an astronaut spacewalking above.

Collectors ordered a combined 1,149,725 dollars through roll, bag and box options, marking the third best start in the history of the series.

Here are two tables illustrating how opening sales of dollars has varied since the first one was introduction in 2009:

Apollo 11 Half Dollar Set Sells Out

In other sales news, the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Half Dollar Set officially sold out. Its sales rose 5,321 units for 99,440 of the possible 100,000.

Altogether, Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coins climbed another 13,176 units for a 25-day sales total of 443,028 coins. Here’s an updated table summarizing their latest sales by product:

In its latest report, the U.S. Mint published sales data for 111 numismatic products. Twenty-eight products outperformed their prior weekly gains against 60 previously. Not counting the new American Native dollar products so as to compare apples to apples, 6 products increased by more than 1,000 units against 9 in the previous report.

In addition, 2 products saw their sales reduced compared to 3 previously. Both saw significant declines — minus 182 units for the 2019-P Proof Apollo 11 Five Ounce Silver Coin and minus 1,505 units for the 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set.
