The 2018-S Silver Reverse Proof Set includes two protective lenses to hold its 10 coins. This CoinNews photo shows the lens for $1, 50c, 10c, 5, and 1c coins.

The 2018 Silver Reverse Proof Set is no longer available. The set, which marks the 50th anniversary of the San Francisco Mint first producing proof coins, went off-sale Tuesday, Aug. 21.

It’s now tagged with "This product is currently unavailable" along with a "Learn "More" link stating:

"We are currently out of this item, but more may be available later. Provide your email using the ‘REMIND ME’ button and we will let you know when we are taking orders again."

The 10-coin collectible launched July 23 for $54.95 and scored first-day sales of 106,108 sets. The U.S. Mint instituted an order limit of 10 sets per household during the opening 24 hours of sales.

Since that first day, sales reports from the Mint showed gains of:

  • 15,703 sets to 189,325 sets for the week ended Aug. 19.

The most recent total represents 94.7% of the allotted 200,000 sets.

Gone in 30 days… not bad. Though I do agree with earlier comments regarding quality issue of this proof set. I ordered two sets and both the Rhode Island quarters had tiny marks on the reverse.. same location on both. sad

I purchased ten sets on the first day and have kept them in their original box from the US Mint. Then I purchased a single set, and the coins are beautiful!!!!

Agree, they look very sharp. I bought my usual annual mint, proof, and silver proof sets. Lined them up with the reverse proof at the end and it was fun to see how the eye appeal kept increasing. A mintage of 200,000 might have been a little high, but at least they were around long enough for everyone who was interested to get a purchase in.
