US Mint Updates Release Schedule for 2009 Products

1

Mint Coin CalendarThe United States Mint has updated the release schedule for 2009 collector coins and products.

In December of last year, the Mint listed specific dates for several products launches up to late March, plus coins available in "Spring." The newest Mint timetable, while still mostly filled with general seasonal timelines, has products scheduled through to the end of the year.

Noticeably, and still missing are the bullion collector products, like the American Eagle gold and silver coins and the American Buffalo gold pieces. Additionally, the four 2009 Lincoln cents are not mentioned.

Coin collectors now know, however, to tune in for the 2009 Lincoln and Braille silver dollars launches on Feb. 12 and Mar. 26.

The Mint’s schedule is available online, with a snapshot listed below. It is never absolutely in stone. Yet, even its current state shows the breadth of Mint products and helps to set expectations.

This is clearly a case of too many coins at one time. Hasn’t the govt. learned from the expeience of the 1930’s that too many commemoratives (in that case) effectively killed off the collector market for several decades to come?
