Australian bullion sales rallied in October, with Perth Mint figures showing the strongest monthly demand for gold since November 2022 and for silver since October 2023.
Mint sales coincided with another month of sharp gains in precious metals prices. Based on LBMA data in U.S. dollars, gold rose 4.9%, or $185.65, to $4,011.50 per ounce, while silver climbed 6%, or $2.78, to $48.96.
The Perth Mint’s General Manager of Minted Products, Neil Vance, said October delivered strong results across all markets.
"Retail demand remained robust globally, with the United States showing particular strength in gold minted bars and Europe recording solid sales in gold coins," he said.
"The rising gold price drove strong interest across the board, while silver demand surged following the launch of our 2026 Silver Kangaroo coin."
Perth Mint Gold Bullion Sales in October 2025
The Perth Mint reported gold bullion sales of 85,603 ounces in October, marking increases of 133.9% from September and 186% compared to October 2024.
Year to date, gold sales have totaled 363,261 ounces, up 20.4% from the 301,743 ounces recorded during the same period last year.
Perth Mint Silver Bullion Sales in October 2025
Silver bullion sales rose for a second consecutive month in October after four straight months of slowing activity, reaching 1,061,231 ounces — up 83.4% from September and 96.6% above the level from a year earlier.
For the first ten months of 2025, silver sales have totaled 5,812,177 ounces, a 24.5% decline from the 7,700,416 ounces recorded during the same period in 2024.
