in US Mint Sales

2011 American Silver Eagle

From a perspective of volume, 2011 American Silver Eagles were most vocal in various news articles about US Mint weekly sales.

The coins minted with investors in mind managed to top the 13 million barrier in year-to-date sales, and are on their way to smashing last year’s annual record of 34.6+ million.

Also in weekly sales news was the debuting performances of the 2011 Native American $1 coin rolls and the Andrew Johnson Presidential Dollar Coin Covers. The coin covers had four-day sales of 15,459. That was down slightly from the opening performances of last year’s issues which featured coins honoring Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan and Lincoln. Buyers ordered just over 19,000 of the new 2011 Native American $1 rolls. They have quite a ways to go to catch last year’s rolls which had sales of over 78,000.
