Newly released silver keepsake coins feature an image of a baby sleeping on a flower bud in typical Geddes style. Shown left is the silver coin with baby boy sleeping on lotus pod. Shown right is the silver coin with a baby girl sleeping on a peony bud.

New Zealand Mint and award-winning photographer Anne Geddes have collaborated to create what could quite possibly be the cutest collectable coins ever made.

"I’m used to seeing my work in many places but this is the first time I’ve seen them on silver coins and they look great. What NZ Mint is able to achieve with color on coins is nothing short of a photographic finish," Geddes says.

Geddes was born and raised in Australia but her photography career turned commercial whilst living in Auckland in the late 1980s when her first published photo appeared in a local magazine.

"Anne Geddes is renowned around the world and her photographs are instantly recognizable so we’re excited to bring them to life in this limited edition series," says New Zealand Mint Chief Executive Simon Harding.

"Anne’s photography has been published in 83 countries and her books have sold more than 19 million copies worldwide so we’re confident this first series of coins featuring her work is the start of a great partnership."

The two unique sets include a 1oz legal tender coin minted from .999 silver and either a rattle or a baby bracelet. Both coins feature an image of a baby sleeping on a flower bud in typical Geddes style and are housed in special keepsake boxes.

Boxes for Anne Geddes Silver Keepsake Coins
Each coin is presented within a silver keepsake box that is either shaped as a tool box or jewelry box. The tool box holds the coin and a little silver plated hammer rattle. The jewelry box has the coin and a silver plated bracelet. The tray with the coin and rattle or bracelet is removable so a baby’s first keepsakes can be stored.

The one-of-a-kind coins are designed and manufactured by the New Zealand Mint and retail for US$119.00 (NZ$147.00). It can be purchased from today from http://www.nzmint.com/coins.

The Anne Geddes legal tender coins bear the effigy of the Government of Niue and have a denomination of $2.
