Introduced in 2010 alongside the Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters®, this series continues its uniqueness in that every set but one is still sold by the United States Mint.

Further below, this Coin News Extra article has the latest sales for all sets. Their prices are different depending on the year they were released with those issued from 2010 to 2011 at $14.95 and the later ones at $9.95. Sets since 2012 have the more attractive presentation as the display cards holding the coins feature an image of the national site honored. Older sets have U.S. Mint-branded black and white display cards.

This year’s five sets, with four upcoming, hold America the Beautiful Quarters honoring:

  • Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee
  • Shenandoah National Park in Virginia
  • Arches National Park in Utah
  • Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado
  • Everglades National Park in Florida

Sets have three coins with two in uncirculated quality and one in proof quality. These are qualities minted specially for coin collectors. The uncirculated coins are split with one struck at the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia and the other from the U.S. Mint in Denver. The proof quarter is produced at the U.S. Mint in San Francisco.
