There’s a .gov website (semi-coded) that helps the coin nerds out with tracking all USM Products based on their “Item Number” For example, the BOM ‘Standing Liberty’ Set is Item Number 26BM2 (note that ALL CAPS are used). The nerds can see how many coins, sets, etc that are available/in stock, or not. They can even see & track the inventory being depleted in real time by refreshing the page during a ‘Hot’ sale (kinda fun).

First time poster and lurker of several weeks. I’m a new coin collector having started just earlier this year. I enjoy reading these comments because I am slowly learning more and more about the “insider” (I use the term loosely and for fun) aspect of the hobby but often find it very difficult to keep up with the jargon.

I have to ask about this one since it’s very intriguing and haven’t seen it referenced before – what’s the “not-so-secret site”?

IPO price – $135. many IPO stocks boost right after due to short supply (and that’s definitely the case here too) but after a while, certainly by the time employee lock-up periods expire, the sugar rush wears off and prices drift below the IPO price.

John Q, the 1,500 coins were gone so fast, I’m imagining, dealers, bots and such. What I’m not sure about, is how dealer accounts are structured or formatted for purchasing? Since Joe Public gets the following message when adding 5-6 of any 1oz gold coin, I suspect dealers/ABPP or bots got the majority? You can place 99 in your bag, however the following message pops up: “Your order has exceeded $24,999.99 limit for credit card transactions. Please edit your cart or contact customer service at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468)”. With ABPP/dealers purchasing such large dollar amounts of products, when ordering from their accounts, that message surely doesn’t appear. Again, with the Mint fully knowing the these were special and would be in high demand, they should have had more than a 24hr HHL of 1. However, without enough or any(?) collectors taking the time to reach out to Director Hollis via e-mail prior to or after release, the Mint more or less washes their hands and assumes collectors do not care IMO.

Vinnie, when they added the Best of the Mint product to the grid, the platinum and palladium product were moved from the middle of the grid. They originally appeared on their on page, separated from the other gold products and had a stand alone separate page, below the gold products grid. That page has obviously gone missing for some reason?
