Vinnie, if so, then we should in theory see a huge jump of 86K-95K on those Peace and Morgan proofs on tomorrow’s sales report?

@c_q,the US has about a 12.5:1 population ratio compared to Australia. Also I don't know how strong the secondary market is. I looked at the price. It was in the $5000s (converted to $USD) Not a lot more expensive than the US Mint stuff.

I got a 2006 Silver Proof Kiwi at an ANA show one year. It turns out the mintage was 2000. It was a low mintage coin, but not a rare one.

I should qualify what I said. The Perth Mint belongs to the government of Western Australia and also does all of Australia's bullion coin. Not quite private but not the federal or national mint.

Wow, such a contrast from my post on 9/1 regarding the 2025 Morgan and Peace $1 Silver Proofs! These Tea Leaves flow like water? Did they check or recheck quality and pull a bunch from inventory? The tail end of my post I wrote: “PS No matter how you slice it, there will be more than enough to go around and product will still be available well into 2026 or 2027?” Not knowing how or what internal formulas or accounting programs are in use, there appeared to be mintages that were slated to possibly go past maximum Mintage and Product Limits, with 188,857 Morgan’s and 179,008 Peace dollars on 9/1.

With the numbers today on 9/7, the question is, will there be enough to satisfy drop day customers on 9/11? U.S. Mint numbers can get wonky, and who knows if this data is actually being intentionally manipulated, reliable or suddenly change again? They could strike more or mysteriously come up with more that seemingly appear out of nowhere? Who knows? Flip a coin? Careful, as one doesn’t ever truly know if the Mint may slip in a double sided coin and trick us? The magic trick with the 3 silver cups and 1 red ball comes to mind. Which silver cup hides the red ball after all the shuffling?

On 9/1 there were 161,900 standalone Morgan PF coins for the public, with 11,957 still in the ABPP coffers. Today there are just 66,110 and 0 respectively. There also were 152,900 standalone Peace PF coins for the public, with 11,108 still left in the ABPP coffers. Today there are just 66,389 and 0 respectively. On the 8/31 sales report, the Morgan’s listed 6,043 and 5,892 Peace dollars sold. The only oddity that has not changed since 9/1, is the 40-coin tray option, which lists the “Mintage Limits” on both as “None”, with each having 375(15K) out of a possible 344(13,760) 40-coin trays available? Remember? It’s Magic!

Do keep in mind, U.S. Mint numbers are as the water flowing in a mighty river, ever changing, always evolving…. The river banks, amount of water flow, sand bars, gravel beds, sediment, creatures that inhabit and visit, all change with time… What additional surprises may lie in wait?

In place is a HHL limit of 10 for the first 24 hours. As of 10am today, these are setting up as a possible winner for collectors and arbitragers from a mintage and secondary market standpoint? Don’t forget, buy what you like and can afford. Don’t let the $$$ signs go to your head! No one’s getting rich off of a handful of modern Morgan and Peace dollars. Just saying…. PS Mike Unser’s article from 9/17/24 gives an interesting glimpse of sales when comparing to 2025. Especially when looking at the top 10 sellers and what is no longer available or soon to be unavailable from the 2025 product lineup! “US Mint Sales: 2024 Proof Morgan and Peace Dollars Debut”

I second that LOL REB! Sponge Bob, Square Peg Round Hole, coming to the U.S. Mint in 2033. The First $1 Coin to follow up the 15 years of American Innovation $1’s! What were they thinking with a series running from 2018 until 2032? On the heels of the 20 years of statehood and ATB quarters, followed up by AWQ’s and next up youth sports quarters. Definitely burnt out on multi year series, re-do’s of re-do’s, reverse proofs and now overdone Privy’s!

Now we’re getting crazy silver medals for our grand 250th Year Anniversary, that are chained up to the re-do gold coins? Ay Caramba!

From Australia, I’m a fan of a coin I picked up in 2011 from the Royal Canadian Mint(RCM). The “Kangaroo at Sunset” 1oz silver proof!

@REB, I think there one step above, Their coins are still coins with an actual denomination rather than medals. I think this is sort of like the now defunct Pobjoy Mint and the New Zealand Mint (now Agoro). They must have some licensing agreement with various Commonwealth governments. This private mint topic is a bit vague and fuzzy to me,

so that 'wedge-tailed' eagle looks a bit like a bald eagle, turns out the wedge-tailed version is slightly larger wingspan but weighs slightly less than bald eagle, but otherwise look pretty similar. but only 175 limit? isn't that a lot of work to design and make dies for so few coins that could all easily fit in a shoebox?
