My remaining Liberty inventory is a bit off! We have the Proof Liberty's in the display case up top, the MS-70 set down to the right, and 3 of 4 Proofs at lower left. Why I didn't get the Buchanan Liberty Proof a decade ago to complete the PF set is beyond me--now it seems outrageous to pay 1500+ for the Buchanan Gold! There's an MS70 Jacksons Liberty in the PCGS slab off to the side for good measure. I had started another MS set with the Jackson coin, and got distracted it seems. Time flies when you're having fun!

First Spouse Gold: The Liberty Subset.
More digging, and more surprises, well sort of.
I found my 4 slab presentation box, and now that I think of it, I bought this PF Liberty set that included the box back in 2011 ish.
It all looks fine, but the mismatched NGC white cores still bother me. Solid vs edgeview. I prefer to see the edge of the coin, so either re-holder for edgeview, or crack-em out for that raw presentation.

Good to hear REB.
I'm glad that you like it, I do. Again, lots of character, and great history with that old building in SC. The nickel certs are neat.
Yes, many times the coin looks better in hand. One reason may be that the hi-rez(& zoomed)online pics pick up flaws in greater detail, allowing scrutiny to creep in? Once in hand, the nitpicking fades away, as the flaws are barely noticed now. The physical weight plays a part in the psychology as well. Justification is easy after that...

I got the 1936-D SC Sequi coin from S&B today. The coin still has its problems but darned if the thing doesn't look better in person than online. Has that been your experience with auction wins? Better live than digital? Just wondering what the feeling is out there with auction-won coins.

Yes, the 4-slab wood box had been considered, bought, and filled with another PF Subset!
There's a soft spot in my heart for the Liberty Subset, as I've purchased at least a dozen of them(6-PF/6-MS)all in '09-10. I'd converted several slabbed sets to the scarce 4 coin box and sold them with quite the fanfare 14 yrs back. They were affordable back then($7-900 ea.)..
This(soon to be)raw set is for me to convert & keep, along with at least one slabbed PF & MS set. Besides, those old NGC solid-core slab's have got to go(not my preference).
Yes, GC requires the certification of your coins to consign with them, but if you have Raw Rolls, Bars, Ingots & Mint Sets -- you're still in luck to sell them there.
I'll take some Spouse inventory and I'll get back with you(back to my hobby desk tomorrow) and send a pic...
