Received my sets last week. Opened 1 the rest go in the safe unopened. The 1 I did open looks good through my loop.
Have pulled most of my subscriptions back this year and decided to go mostly with bullion bars.
Really enjoy the feedback on this site and hope it continues with Kaiser gone.

Really happy with my new Morgan and Peace dollars Reverse Proof set and now I’m thinking of buying a 2nd graded PF70 set on fleecebay. I don’t think the value of these sets will go down in the future due to the limited run and their beauty, especially the Peace dollar (gorgeous).

In reply to Benjamin G. I have heard recent coins were bad. And with markups it is harder to justify purchases. I'll probably grab three army medal and a couple coins next year, but way less than I got this year, which is way less than prior years. Passed on the palladium and platinum and gold tree and Buffalo. Leave those to the deep pocker people. I still can't believe how much gold seems suppressed, but they claim China has double the amount reported. If true I would think that would crash the price a bit.

Sorry you’re not pleased w/some of your sets Benjamin G. Have you separated the capsules to take out that blue string? If that’s the only problem w/that one it’s an easy fix. Of course scuffs and milk spotting on coins can’t be rectified.

Yeah, the Mint is the U.S. Gubmint so like calling any Federal office you’ll get the same reception.

Welp at least you got a couple of good sets (maybe three if you just take out the blue string).

These are still available at US Mint stores, at least the one in downtown DC had a drawer full of them Wednesday 11/15

Hello everyone.

I am a fairly new collector (last 7 years or so) and have followed/collated most of the modern US mint releases these last 7 years. I’m also a fairly “young” collector in my early 30’s that the mint should want to keep happy and interested. (They should want to keep everyone loyal, just pointing out I’m their stated “target audience”.).

I received 5 of the new 2023 Morgan/Peace Reverse Proof Sets and has blue strings, milk spotting, and scuffs on 3 of my sets.

I immediately called the mint (news flash: they don’t care) and got a return label. I ended up sending back 2 of my 5 sets for RETURN, not replacement.

With this year’s Uncirculated and Proof sets I also order the allowd amount and ended up returning 33% of those as well.

The mints quality has gotten SO bad that I find myself ordering more than I want to ensure I get at least 1 “good” one. I also find myself not wanting to do business with them any longer.

I have not signed up for the 2024 subscriptions yet, and don’t think I will be.

Never thought I would own proof Morgan’s and Peace dollars let alone reverse proofs. They may be moderns but these are about the best I’ve seen from the mint.
