I bought it! Best looking coin I have seen so far!!!!!
It's art to me! Much like an oil painting. You can argue all day about how it's good or bad. But if you don't see the artistic value you are just a different type of collector. The world is full of art collectors who have over looked priceless paintings.

Do you know why Morgan dollars are called morgan dollars?

I have no interest in this coin. It ruins this series for those of us who were drawn to it for the revival of the "Lady Liberty" in the design, especially from an inclusive, multi-ethnic angle. With the simple name of "American Liberty", and the retro styling, the series *was* extremely appealing to collectors of old US coins. Though the price tag for the 1 ounce gold was prohibitive, the one year that the coin was offered as a 1/10 ounce gold version was thankfully the best design so far. I also really liked the 2019 design, but unfortunately, I could only afford the silver medal, which was so ridiculously large that it can't even be slabbed in a normal holder. Does the mint have any awareness at all of the numismatic world? This has got to be the most haphazard series of any the US Mint has ever offered. For me, it's now jumped the shark. It might as well have a shark fin under the bronco, instead of the sun.

That is the ugliest Liberty gold coin by far. I'm shocked this made it to approval. With such excellent coins up to this point I guess the series was due for a dud, here it is. I'm not paying $700+ premium for that.

I love the design of the horse, hate the birdseye. Kinda creepy.
Tyranny is not ancient or passe, it's ever present. The representation of a wild American bucking bronco tossing a saddle to be unrestrained and free carries the message quite well.
It is right and just to symbolize detachment from tyrants. Read the full text of The Declaration Of Independance, remember 1812, the war of rebellion in 1865, the vicious acts of the kaiser in WW1, the following world war's evil. Sadam and Kuwait. That bronco bucks for all people who pray to toss off oppression and to live free, be it yesterday, today or tomorrow. Toss you reins, break your chains, walk into the sunrise with the wind at your back! And crafting the concept of being wild and free into this gold masterpiece works.
But that piercing gaze of the eagle doesn't give me comfort. I feel like a rabbit in the
field worried about the eagle watching me. The designs of the new silver and gold eagles carry similar impressions, clipped wings, small stick, flying downwards. We see a very "nature field guide" look, but it isn't representing the American classic emblem in its style or message, nor is it a harmonic take reflecting the tone of the obverse of the coin.
It's clear that the mint is shifting the design styles of our coins. They appear to be in a flux of reusing classic and popular designs and mixing in a "New Century" style that hasn't quite defined itself.
What's next? Will we see a 1776-2026 drapped bust silver dollar...maybe. Lady Liberty on a Harley in 2.5oz silver...I doubt it. American bi-metal Olympic Medals series, for the home team? In my collection, coins have to be beautiful, well designed, no nonsence statements allowed, and 100% All American respected globally.
