Dear Coin News: I just received the 2016 set and I could not be more satisfied and thrilled. The problems that plagued the prior sets were finally fixed and eliminated. Each of the coins are in removable capsules that can be taken out and viewed. The words on the side "30th anniversary" silver dollar is clearly visible. In addition, each coin in my set are flawless under magnification. I recommend this set. I know it is overpriced but the coins are perfect. You can tell that the coins were specially selected by an experienced eye. Maybe the mint could issue the 2015 set in this format. Once the word gets out regarding this sets quality it will sell out quick
Great job US Mint !

Rodney,
I agree but since I can't remember seeing a positive comment and I'm sure the Mint reads this Blog they should have gotten the hint by now. But as we all know, to much red tape and they have their own adjenda. But, one can only hope.

Joe,
Nice to hear from you. Especially about something that should have been talked about a week ago. I got 20 Dimes, had them graded and sold 17, then bought one Quarter and then 6 more when they opened them up. Had them graded and sold 4. Managed to get 3 halves with help from friends, their currently at NGC. I too wish all 3 were 1oz. like the Buffalo. In fact, I hoped they would have started minting all 3 in 1oz, about 5yrs. ago along with the Buffalo or discontinued it after 5 years.
I can only imagine how beautiful all 3 would be in 1oz. The Dime and Half would have rivaled the St.Gaudens $20 coin. In a Proof WOW! I saw a friends raw half and it's fantastic, best of the 3. All I had graded came back SP70, First day of issue and I'm hoping at least one half comes back the same.
As for displaying, I bought 3 very nice wood holders with clear acrylic tops, shiny brass hinges and clasp and black felt, designed to hold 3 graded and slabed coins. Right now I have a 2016 Buffalo, 2009 St. Gaudens HR and a 2016 1oz. Gold Eagle, all graded where the halves will go when I get them back from NGC. Fantastic site. I don't know if your's are graded or not but I can't think of a better way to display them. Along with the Proof Silver Eagle, they are definitely in my opinion the 4 best coins from the Mint this year. I have seen some of the proposed designs for next years $100 coins and others, unless they pick out the right front and back, Loser City. Regards to you on your reply.
Thank you, DrWho7
