The United States Mint finally placed the proof 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollar on official “Sold Out” status — weeks (if not months) after many had anticipated the event would occur.

This closes the final chapter on what has been an interesting roller-coaster for the commemorative coins that celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts of America.

The proof coins launched on March 23, 2010, along with their uncirculated counterparts, to overwhelming demand.

In fact, ordering in the first few hours was so intense that the U.S. Mint’s online store and telephone systems experienced significant issues reminiscent of the troubles that occurred during last year’s Lincoln Coin and Chronicles Set release.

2010 Boy Scouts Centennial Commemorative CoinThe 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Proof Silver Dollar sold out Friday afternoon, with the United States Mint asking potential buyers to join a waiting list.

This procedure is normal for the U.S. Mint and has been utilized on past sell outs, like when the Boy Scouts Uncirculated Silver Dollars reached the same status on April 26, 2010.

Those joining the standby list will be sent the proof commemorative on a first-come, first-served basis, and only if a previous order is: canceled, returned or affected by a processing issue such as an expired credit card.

Commemorative 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars are slowly, but steadily approaching a sell out. United States Mint coin sales figures released Tuesday evening indicate 348,977 is their latest total, representing 99.7 percent of the maximum authorized mintage. In terms of numbers, only 1,023 are left for collectors to purchase.

Sales ticked slightly slower for 2010 Boy Scouts Commemorative Coins. Newly released United States Mint figures reveal 2,820 of the proof silver dollars are left. The uncirculated $1s dropped 25, which was lowest decrease since the US Mint started adjusting for their returns, cancellations and standby orders. They sold out five weeks ago.

2010 Boy Scouts Centennial Commemorative CoinThe 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars still await a sellout.

The latest coin sales figures from the United States Mint show that the commemoratives have reached 342,771, or 97.9% of the authorized 350,000 mintage.

As the Scouts uncirculated coin sold out, only the proof version remains, leaving 7,229 left for collectors to purchase.

The uncirculated option was adjusted downward, for the second straight week. Their number declined by 226, bringing their total to 107,070. The US Mint appears close in finalizing their mintages as it accounts for returns, cancellations and standby orders. Last week’s report had their total decremented by 1,375.

The latest coin sales figures for the 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars have been released by the United States Mint.

Their new weekly gain of 951 is down from last week’s 8,007 increase. Not helping the numbers was a negative shift for the uncirculated Scouts coin.

Those sold out to a waiting list on April 26, which ended on April 29 when they were moved to the US Mint’s "No Longer Available" category. New adjusted uncirculated sales stand at 107,296, which is 1,375 lower than last week’s report.

2010 Boy Scouts Uncirculated Silver DollarNow that the United States Mint uncirculated 2010 Boy Scouts of America Centennial Silver Dollars have officially sold out, most would expect that their interest on the secondary markets would increase. Apparently, at least for now, that is not the case.

eBay auctions reveals that collectors appear unwilling to fork over significant premiums for most uncirculated 2010-P Boy Scouts commemorative coins, which up until recently were available directly from the United States Mint for $35.95.
