Circulating quality Fort McHenry quarters in rolls and bags will go on sale at noon ET on Monday, August 26, 2013. These will be available from US Mint facilities in Denver, Philadelphia and San Francisco and may be ordered through the Mint’s website at www.usmint.gov/catalog. Product option and prices include:

  MINT MARK PRICE
Two-Roll Set (40 coins per roll) "P" and "D" $32.95
100-Coin Bag "P," "D" or "S" $34.95
Single Roll (40 coins) "S" $18.95
Three-Roll Set "P," "D" and "S" $46.95

It is also presumed that US Mint distributors on the 29th may also order 2013 Fort McHenry America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coins. As a bullion product, these coins will eventually become available in the secondary market through precious metals and coin dealers for a bit over the going price of five ounces of silver. Consumers cannot buy them directly from the United States Mint.

Then at noon ET on Thursday, August 29, 2013, the US Mint will begin selling 2013-P Fort McHenry America the Beautiful Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins through its website for $154.95. The price could possibly change by release time since silver prices have been soaring. These silver coins for collectors have a 25,000 maximum limit.

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine quarters and silver coins mark the 19th design in the series of America the Beautiful releases. They share common obverse and reverse designs. Obverses bear the familiar portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan. The reverses, by Joseph Menna, show a scene as could be seen during the annual Defenders Day celebration at Fort McHenry.

While quarters have a reeded edge, the silver coins have a flat edge with lettering of ".999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE" to denote their weight and purity.

Quarters carry obverse mint marks of P, D or S representative of where they were produced — plants in Denver, Philadelphia or San Francisco. The five ounce uncirculated silver coins have a P mint mark denoting their striking at the Philadelphia Mint. The five ounce bullion coins are also produced in Philadelphia but do not have a mint mark.

CoinNews.net will provide further information about each product on the day of their release. For more information about America the Beautiful Quarters and products already released, check this coin news section.
