Wow, I never knew 'me, myself, and I' were 'key words! I'll have to store that in the memory bank. Is 'memory bank' a 'key phrase'? I have to chuckle at folks like you who purchase a couple Au coins and think they are all of a sudden numismatic grading experts. How many books have you published on your great wisdom'knowledge of numismatics, Rick? Or are you just a pseudo- expert? I'm just surprised that you have been returning coins to the mint...apparently that's a big no no with your other buds! LoL.

@Rick I would not charactize 69 as flawed. Maybe just less perfect. I think I have so many US Mint purchased that would grade at 69. That 2021-D Morgan missing a chunk of metal might still grade at 69 if it were a strikethrough. The Gettysburg quarter in one my 2026 Mint Set does look like it has some soft of planchet flaw or surface irregularity. I'll have to take a microscope picture of it some day.

Rich,
Not surprising, not a big deal. I can handle him, and thanks.
Craig likes to troll, and since he offers zero/zilch numismatic substance here, banter it is. I wouldn't expect Craig to pick up the gist of what I was talking about anyway, let alone his inability to read a room. His posts are fairly consistent - 'me, myself & I', along with keywords like plethora, hoard, and 'My Safe' sure is a staple of his - sigh. Craig is about as gauche as someone can get imo, but his dogs can't tell, and that's what really counts.

I send the majority of my raw Mint material in to be graded because I find value in it, in more ways than one. If the Mint delivers a 69 coin, it will likely go back, and I have no need to announce it all the time, what a waste. You'll never hear me say "easy-peasy" on drop day either, nope. I usually don't post on drop-day articles, too much traffic. Just me.

Here's a recent sampling of what were flawed 69's that were returned/replaced, and eventually holdered as 70's.
Happy Camper.

of course the concept of random insertion wouldn't work because you could order and simply return the item if it is not 3 legged.
but they could do something like that as a 'best of the mint - error
the 3 legged comes to mind only because the Buffalo coin is still being minted'

@Tom I once tried to increase my subscription on a CU subscription and it didn't work. I have not played with reactivating a suspended suscription.

BTW my 60% rule of thumb didn't work on the EU Morgan/Peace. The subscription were about 45% of the 250,000 mintage. It seems to work better on higher demand items. Maybe it is 60% of production and they didn't intend to make the full 250,000 or a big chunk was slated for backorder if the demand was there. It just seems like there is always some quantity available on sales day. Also they might still increase the mintage limit since it is not set for the product and the subscription 160,000 is sort of a soft number.
