Oh, I pissed off Rick. He "warned" me about that. I'm SO scared! He might hurt me with all those made-up "facts" he peddles.

Looks like I got you too, Comrade Flipoff. Still having trouble defining simple words that even your dopey brothers could define. Your high school education must have been worse than Scary Rick's.

I love your "Posting something to value, you should try it sometime, oh that would require some degree of intelligence…" Truer words have rarely been spoken. I'll start when you do, Mr. High School Anchor. I guess that's what you're talking about when you blather on about your navy background. You've always struck me as much dumber than the REAL navy heroes I've met.

No AI for me. Only dumb people like you and your actual Communist Leader need that crutch for your Truth Social feeds.

At least I have a wife. I don't have to depend on the blowup doll that you seem to prefer. What's her name? Mrs. Flipoff? I know she's just what you need - a woman with a higher intellect than you.

Keep working on that comedy, loser. Buck up, someday they'll stop throwing beer bottles at you. There's hope yet. Have a good day to the guy with all the best AI words. See you at the next commie meeting. I understand you're the guest speaker.

Congrats Commie!

Now you can join the ranks of that idiot, Craig, and true fashion, as you pissed off Rick now, is there anyone that actually post informative post of value that Dumb & Dumber hasn’t peev’ed off?!

Posting something to value, you should try it sometime, oh that would require some degree of intelligence…

Well, at least you have artificial intelligence to help you out, to actually place an order accurately, as opposed to having a rely on the wife, otherwise you’d screw that up too

“That’s really funny!”

What’s really funny is that a post to Harry on the knowing that he understands the relationship of
Crude prices to gold, as he actually buys gold coins, and Cali like an idiot, response with a dissertation of bucket garbage randomness, as the original post fly over his head..,

Oh, that’s because you actually have to understand gold…

Since the above post do touch on idiots….

Where’s your lap pooch, Old Hickory, the densest block of idiocracy on CN, didn’t think he’d missed the opportunity to chime in, and demonstrate how thick he is.., once again,
Peas in a pod, you two are…

diesel used to be cheaper than gas (say, up til about 10 years ago) - mainly because we had a lot of 'sweet' crude oil from which it is fairly trivial to make diesel. but diesel historically had a higher sulfur content, so a while back in order to have cleaner environment diesel had to become low-sulfur, and that made it more expensive to produce, but initially not that bad, it became only slightly more than regular gas. but around the same time, a lot of 'sweet' crude production began to dwindle, and the rise of shale oil and other lower-quality 'sour' crude which had historically been not developed became predominant - that is how the US became a 'net oil exporter' nation. but that 'sour' crude has a much higher sulfur content, so it became much more expensive to remove the sulfur, plus high-sulfur crude wears down refineries faster, so diesel started to get a bit more expensive than gas. due to the iran war, it's obviously gotten harder to get oil out, but it's also harder to get diesel out - many of the refineries in the persian gulf are not producing diesel so that drove up prices. layer in china who ceased diesel exports, so the cost went up even more. layer in the ukranian attacks on russian refineries who had previously put out lots of diesel, that increases costs even more. layer in the SPR having massively reduced withdrawals, that increases costs more. layer in refineries in the US that have been going 6+ months at 98% of capacity without maintenance having to go offline very soon (either due to breakdowns, or lack of crude oil) and prices will go up more. and then of course it's not far til winter, and home heating oil used primarily in the northeast is basically diesel (the only difference is adding a dye so it can be taxed differently) and that's probably going to spike prices even more.

basically, even if a magic wand were waved and made iran and ukraine wars stop, the hormuz strait open up, and all the refineries repaired, diesel will still be more expensive than gas, because there just ain't enough 'sweet' crude available anymore.

p.s. venezuela oil is considered 'very' heavy sour crude - extremely high sulfur content, it is very difficult to store and refine and thus very expensive, only a few refineries in the US can handle it, and it's not even able to be stored in the SPR. just to put it in perspective, it costs about $5-$10 to refine a barrel of saudi light crude oil, but about $50-$80 to refine a barrel venezuela crude. as a refiner, you don't get to charge more for the final product regardless of the type of oil you used, so of course you want to source as much of the cheap stuff you can.

the issues extend beyond california - oregon, nevada, washington, idaho all are in the same bucket when it comes to fuel - there are indeed only a dozen or so refineries left on the west coast (mostly in LA area), and you could blame policy for the closures over the years, but much more so the core economics have been against refineries for a few decades now - oil fields on the west coast are dwindling, so even those remaining refineries are overkill for what oil is produced here (only 25% of california refinery capacity is used for california oil), so a lot of oil has to be shipped in to keep those refineries going, because there are no oil pipelines going over the rocky mountains from oil fields in texas, wyoming, etc. Faced with a future of less oil, you can see why california especially pivoted heavily to solar and wind, since there's so much of both, plus today it's actually cheaper to add power from those sources than any other source, and you can see why oil companies don't want to bother here (even though they are making plenty of $$$ on that overpriced diesel and gas)
