I just got off the phone with the Denver Mint Gift shop and as I suspected, they do ship to customers($12.00) and they do or did, currently, as of 2:10pm EST 7/23, have the coin in stock. The woman went the extra distance asking me for your phone number, so she could call you, of which I obviously told her I didn’t have a number I could give her.

She said you should call ASAP and if there’s no answer to leave a message with your name, number and product you’d like to order and her boss would return your call. Time and inventtory is of the essence and you should call ASAP if hoping to get lucky! Good luck and hopefully you see this and act on it, sooner rather than later! Or at least before all the other American Silver Eagle EU Hounds see this and beat you to the punch! Peace”

I own the first two volumes of “Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money”. I have quite a few of these beautiful coins. I really love the 5-ounce Libertad’s. I had reached out to the US Mint years ago recommending they do a 2-ounce and 5-ounce ASE like the Mexican Libertad’s. I’m sure they would be huge sellers, nope nothing, but the 1-ounce ASE 🙁

Many collectors were and are not too happy about the 2025 premiums, that is unless you were lucky enough to get your hands on them. Easier said than done for sure! BTW, Louis’s article mentions this key date 1998 Libertad, that this Coin News article is covering.

The late(9/10/18) Don Bailey was considered an absolute authority on Mexican Coinage, whom also credited his wife Lois with much of his success! He and his wife released a multi volume(3) series via Whitman Publishing, the “Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money”. If you’d like to know more about Don and Lois Bailey, Louis G. wrote a piece, published over on Coin Week, titled: “‘Don Bailey – Dean of Mexican Numismatics Has Passed Away”(9/14/18). At the bottom of the CW article,if unfamiliar, there is more about numismatic journalist Louis Golino, whose articles when I’ve come across them, have been a pleasure to read!
