Cali, One of the two that guy has on auction is already at $1200. Would you pay that for a coin that probably would grade 65-66, maybe 67? In the plastic it's hard to tell how many scratch marks are there. I'd rather wait to see what graded examples start selling for if buying one.

The guy had at the very least a connection with his bank/credit union. Good for him!
I would cherry the nicer examples to be graded and keep/sell the lower quality coins raw, if lucky enough to find fresh unc 4th privies in rolls or change.

CACG yesterday sent out a message for a new 'free' flag label for the 4th Q's, but no bounty for a 'first' discovery submission...

Dang, $2000 is not bad per se, from a sellers standpoint, unless that roll has additional Privy coins within? We also don’t know, if he had a whole box, multiple boxes or if he was extremely Lucky and found in just a few rolls? We’ll never know, however I’m betting someone else, in the know, already has those 1st examples in the mail and or possibly already in NGC or PCGS’s possession?

Any idea or thoughts about CACG entering the Bounty Fray Rick? Curious, if you’d you been the lucky one, if you’d have sent them(majority) off for grading or sold them raw? With as many as it appears he had, hopefully he sent a few off for grading?

Thanks for the additional info Rick!

With that being said,

PCGS, just yesterday sent out their own bounty for the 'first' 4th privy quarter to be graded at $5k...

Soo, if the guy who bought the roll (or a single) for $2k sends it in to PCGS asap, perhaps they can get their $2k back, and then some? Fun-fun...

Lucky seller indeed. Let's take a closer look at one of his "or Best Offer" results ...

"The 2026 Declaration of Independence Quarter with 4th of July Privy has brought this guy $12K-$13K so far! He had multiple listings that have already sold, including a roll with an ender that went for a best offer accepted under $5K." Not so fast..

"best offer accepted under 5K". Well, yes, but not necessarily what one might think...
He did hit it big to be sure, just not that big. There's a website that reveals the price paid for eBay's "best offers". Here's his 'OBO' reveal, a teaser, if you will.......

Coin News, where you get Fresh Coin News, Hot off the Press!

LUCKY seller out of Bennetsville SC! There are 2 left up for auction! The 2026 Declaration of Independence Quarter with 4th of July Privy has brought this guy $12K-$13K so far! He had multiple listings that have already sold, including a roll with an ender that went for a best offer accepted under $5K.

Multiple single listings and as I said, 2 auctions are still live! One is currently at $511, the other at $530, with 22hr until the hammer drops! Personally, I think he should have sent them ALL off for grading and then possibly consigned them to Great Collections or possibly one of the other auction houses?

Fine line in this instance, between striking while the irons hot and getting a little greedy by sending off for grading and hoping for the highest grade and the resultant windfall for top grade(s). These coins are going to fetch a serious premium while still in uncirculated condition. Ones found later in the wild will still have serious legs, however not as much as those immediately pulled from fresh rolls!

He likely is leaving and has left a lot of money on the table by not having a better title for his listing? Since people can’t easily find it through a search, meaning less people are bidding.

IMO, I think “2026 Declaration of Independence Quarter with 4th of July Privy Rare” would have gained more visibility. That search returns 83 results, and puts you amongst the other P and D non-privy examples, but at least your visible to the masses.

He used “RARE 2026 "4th of July" Privy 25C ~ RAW BU (IN HAND)”. Granted it’s unique, however a poor use of search engine optimization(SEO), as that is not what most people will use as their search engine criteria or wording selection. Using his listing though, you will find his listing and you can then use “filter” and “completed items” to see his completed sales. PS For convenience, I’ve linked his titled listing and you can see his 2 auctions left, just in case you really want one of these for your collection. Son of a Silver Stacker(YT) Broke the News! PSS They’ve been found and ow at $835 and $660 at 9:40am! Good Luck! (Pic from CN)
