No Sherril, on your recent trip to Japan, you should have gone to a Tokyo grocery store, bought a case of what ever unique Marker’s Mark labeling and dipped wax promo they had going on…, brought back said case, gave that to friends and family,.., and then they’d be happy, and you’d be set, as when they’d ask what you want…, you could say, buy me US Mint Silver Eagles and Gold…..

So, in all sincerity, I hope you have another trip to Japan coming up this year…, Always, Always, bring back unique bourbon and scotch, that’s your barter trade…. 😉

I DID start a Congratulations subscription at the same time as I reordered Wonder Woman. I think at the time I was getting vibes that the ASE-P 1) might have a limited mintage and 2) might not appear in any other set/product.

As for the First/Last chase, I had my eye on Great Collections’ 1795 Small Eagle. Once it crossed $300k+, I got out. It’s at $380k now. But what a beautiful and rare coin! Looks like I might have to set my sights on an AU 50-58 for that one.

I’m still chasing the 1870-CC dollar & the 1793 cent/half cent. I’m intrigued by 1861 Southern Mint gold & maybe nabbing a double eagle or two. I’m still shopping early gold commems – maybe one or two from the next Stacks Bowers auction.

Director Hollis should be given full reign to strike BU Palladium to the AW design,,, and distribution to the AP’s, with a conditional retail premium mark up, for fair distribution to the public (which means we the collectors don’t get screwed),

REB, congrats on your newest proof coin. I’d guessed in the previous thread you could or might hold out purchasing, until the price drops(?) next week. However, when you have such a long running collection of precious metal proofs, why run the risk of missing out on a coin you want and obviously can afford. With that being said, the peace of mind, not having to possibly miss out or pay more, if having to go to the secondary market is well worth the price of admission for sure! Congrats again!

I know you’re more or less are a proof only guy, however I can’t recall if you did or didn’t decide to grab a Congratulations Set Subscription? Not a big deal, just curious. Also, do you have any leads or a next coin up on your First/Last, Classic or Pre 33 endeavors? PS Congratulations to all who managed to grab Semiquincentennial quarters yesterday, prior to them becoming unavailable. Also, the 2026 ASE PF DD w/Privy numbers have been adjusted
downward and the ABPP(26EAAB) have been given their allotment of 30,020 coins from the 26EA inventory. There is also an additional 7,560 coins that have been deducted from the previous 299,900 that 26EA showed just a couple days ago. Those 7,560 coins are also likely destined for the U.S. Mint stores and or a combination of the stores and what they will likely take to the ANA National Money Show in Savannah Georgia. PS There still isn’t a line item number for a possible 40-coin tray option(26EA040) for the NBPP/ABPP members. However, that is still a likely possibility IMO. For 2025 they were offered 850(34,000) trays, of which 49 are still sitting on the table. With the price increase, even with their applicable bulk discount, those 40-coin trays are in no danger of being purchased/sold.

Yes, for the single coin. The most I paid for a single before was in 2011 ($2,096.95). The four-coin fractional sets went for $2,954.90 in 2007 and $4,124.90 in 2008. Last year was $1,550.95. All prices include shipping charges.

Prices have nearly doubled in one year. Such is life when metal prices skyrocket.

P.S. – The confirmation email came in at 12:13; so, I GUESS I’m good to go. If so, I hope all orders go as smoothly this year.
