REB, Buying the coins in sets is smart. The 2016 Au Dime,Quarter, and Half Dollar were pressed as a ‘Business Strike’. That’s interesting so these Au coins aren’t in your collection? Looking at the image of the Au Mercury Dime, I’d suspect it will also be a Business Strike, but who knows at this point. I’m also glad a lot of these coins will have a HHL of one and with the prices they will be offered at, doubt getting them will be a problem. It is going to be an interesting year! Cheers

I try to get as many coins as possible in sets. If I can’t (the case with some commemoratives), I buy the individual coins. With the annual American Gold Eagles, I always buy just the set. In 2021, I purchased two sets – one of each design. In 2020, I bought the V75 Privy Gold Eagle on eBay, in addition to the four-coin set. My goal is to own one of every precious metal proof coin since 1960. I also went ahead and acquired all of the proof clad commems since many were already in three-coin sets.

If the “Best of the Mint” series is in proof, it will indeed be an interesting, busy, and expensive year. Hopefully, it won’t be too stressful with games from the Mint. As long as the HHL remains low and mintages are reasonable, it should be relatively smooth sailing. That is, IF the Mint doesn’t cancel an order for no good reason, as they did with the Wonder Woman gold.

I can see this is going to be a very interesting year for accumulating Au items. I’m going to have to pair those 1916 Au Dime. Quarter, and Half Dollar with my 2016 Au coins. Cheers
