In reply to REB. On the 1964 D, the PUP is most noticeable in "rust" from the world "Trust" and can be found on the lower right obverse. Additionally, there have been double dies and triple dies too. You can see a number of varieties in the PCGS pop report for the 1964-D. Not a big money coin. But the variety can add several hundreds of dollars to the price of the coin in MS.

I assume the 1964-D Double Die Kennedy Half is a “minor DD”? Where is the PUP on that coin? Does the PUP vary from specimen to specimen of a coin or is it always in the same location?

Ah, many wrinkles are being carved into my brain today, Professor! Maybe some of the slices are double died.
