LOL Dave! I took a screen shot off a blurry YT video, then copied the photo and pasted into a note on my IPhone. From there I then can highlight and copy the contents. Apparently, the blurry text doesn’t translate well. I caught a few of the errors, however not all! Haha. Since this is a coin site and the 1st conclusive evidence supporting there being an issue regarding the Marine Corps Privy coins, that I’d encountered, I thought some would appreciate the heads up. PS My eye’s aenr’t geinttg any betetr, etheir! This is an example of the “Typoglycemia/Cambridge effect, which also played into my missed spellings.

I’m not one to buy into the Mint truther ideology/Mint shenanigan theories and such, not at all. In fact I’m the opposite, I find the Mint to be straightforward and transparent with everything, no BS whatsoever going on. Just me.
But it seems to me that for several months now/all year, the Mint, particularly in SF & PA have been dropping the ball when it comes to quality – more than usual?…
West Point & Denver seems unaffected?

Is there some internal employee & leadership pushback going on? Mutiny, sabotage, and/or resentment following the DEI policy purge, or the DOGE factor that had supposedly rocked the Mint months ago? I don’t know, but I wonder, and I wouldn’t be surprised either…
I’m probably wrong about this(theory), as I’m wrong a lot.

PS: Cali, don’t sweat the small stuff. As I’ve said(and done) before, if I don’t want to read your sometimes over-analyzed, long-winded research, speculation, & breaking news/no news, I’m free to skip right over them at any time. Same with anyone else. My long-winded coin analyzing post’s are skipped over all of the time, I’m sure. No biggie.

As I relayed previously on 11/14 re: Ruh Roh, LCR Coin Blog and the status of the 2025 250th Anniversary United States Marine Corps American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin, the U.S. Mint((USM) at Philadelphia has regrettably encountered a significant manufacturing complication. The members of the ABPP apparently received the following e-mail(pre 11/10) from the USM.

In our shared commtment to delivering the highest quality product to our oustomers, we ask that you temporarily pause any.distribution or sale of 250th Anniversary United States Marine Corps American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin (25MPM/25MPMAB) until further notice.
This product wil be going on pre-sale on Monday, November 10, 2025, but wil not be shipped unti futher notice.
We are currenty reviewing reported quaity concems and, as a one-tme courtesy, invite you to retum any existing Inventory of this product for evaluation and refund no later than Friday, November 14, 2025. Retumed coins must be in their original condition with al packaging included.

What is the Mint likely to do? Re-strike the entire run? Ship them out as is, and take back the plethora of returns? Or sort through them removing the worst examples, then revise and reduce the product and mintage limit, and cancelling orders. Cancel the issue altogether and allow inventory that did make it out to the ABPP, to become instant, and extremely high priced rarities? This will be fascinating to see how this is all handled IMO. Choo, chooooo, train wreck out of Philly coming through!

Nah, not at the moment, I did a read through of the product description area of ‘ats’ and it’s all ‘null’ – if anything changes, will let you know, thinking we’ll see a silver pricing increase notification between 16-30 December, and a partial product schedule drop during the same time, with the confirmation hearing of Hollis ongoing, suspect a lot of the next 45 days will be ‘dynamic’ – pun intended! 😉 Out with the old, in with the new, best to have some dry powder for ‘what will be’ in 2026.., hold on!
