I am looking forward to both the changes in circulation coins and the new look they will provide.

I am also hoping I am able to buy the higher end gold 250 anniversary coins. Should be a fun but expensive year. Low mintages could make it a good year to collect.

Interesting to see the new 1907 Double Eagle St. Gaudens 2026 “Best of the Mint” gold coin is using a Roman numeral date, which was only used on the 1907 $20 St. Gaudens Type 1, High Relief (and 1907 Ultra High Relief). For the American Eagle Gold coin series (also utilizing the St Gaudens obverse design), I have wondered why from 1986 to 1991 the date was shown in Roman numerals, and then from 1992 on Arabic numerals were used. Why the change over to Arabic numeral dates in 1992, and because of this could the 1986-1991 AGEs be considered as Type 1 (Roman numeral date), the 1992-2021 AGE Type 2 (Arabic numeral date), and the 2021 to present AGE Type 3 (new reverse design)? Just pondering…

In the $6K range for those two coins would be a buy (always like to pay under that of course). I’m thinking the mint is going to cost me between 15-20K next year. I agree, that 1907 is a real looker and in high relief a must have. It is a shame we will have to wait till this time next year to get these two. Au will probably moderate around 4K until the 250th Au coins start being released and then it’ll take off again. It’s always interesting to see how it unfolds. Cheers
