I’d favour the implementation of a gold-backed treasury note, but for the world to ‘trust’ the American government (not to mention it’s own citizens) wouldn’t a balanced budget be more beneficial? Spending $1 – $1.5 trillion more than is taken in each year doesn’t inspire confidence or trust in me.

I would like to see the wording on the US Treasury bond with gold convertibility. What is the legal wording, exceptions, transfers, definition of the amount of gold etc. Last thing I would want to see is something similar to redeeming a gold or silver certificate. Other than collector value, they are near worthless.

My assumption the date July 4, 2026, should be July 4, 2046, or July 4, 2056. It serves no purpose issuing Gold convertible bonds that are not long-term Treasuries…

Side note, off topic/subject. Thank you MLB for instituting a pitch clock(2023) and intentional walk rule(2017). Otherwise last night/this morning’s WorldSeries game would have ended even later! 18 innings, lasting 6hrs 39 min vs the 18 inning and 7hr 20 min marathon the Dodgers played at home against the Red Sox in 2018. Which that game also ended in a walk off homer by Max Muncy, vs a blast by Freddie Freeman this morning just before 3am ET. Max Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Clayton Kershaw, Roki Sasaki, Mookie Betts, Will Smith and the rest of the Dodgers have been as good as gold! I’m not a Dodgers fan, however they have assembled a team of players that is admirable and history making for sure! Hopefully the Series makes it to a Game 7! Go Vladimir Jr.!

Shohei Ohtani is an absolute beast and will continue setting records as long as he can stay healthy? Crazy stats from his last 2 home games at Dodger Stadium, which includes game 4(10/18), finishing a sweep of the Brewers in the NLCS. 7-7 with 5 home runs! Last night alone he was 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, and reached base 5 additional times by walk. The most times ever getting on base, which is a MLB post season record! Also, he tied the record for most extra base hits(4) in a World Series game, last achieved in 1906 by Frank Isbell, whom had 4 doubles. PS Ohtani has reached 1st base 13 consecutive times in his last 2 home games. 3-3, 3 home runs, plus a walk on 10/18 and 4-4, 2 home runs, 2 doubles and 5 walks last night! Insane! PSS Game 4 or tonights “Freak Show” begins at 8pm, with Ohtani taking the mound! What records can he possibly break tonight?
