Words of wisdom, AKBob, words of wisdom. I enjoy collecting both Ag and Au coins(over many years) and recently posted about how few people in the US actually buy PM coins or bars. I realise the mints PM coins aren't for everyone, but there are various ways to pick up a little Ag, Au, Pd, etc. over time. Just like dollar averaging in the stock market. I've been concerned about other countries trying to exit the dollar standard for some time. I wonder how much debt we have to accumulate before the bad news arrives. And if you look at who we're putting in Congress, well that's another thing all together.
Hope you are benefitting from all the prayers sent your way for a victory in your battle with C, I'm sending mine every day! Stay strong and enjoy those Au gems!

p.s. I might just go out and buy another pre 33 Au coin today!

Man REB, you're bringing back fond memories for me with that list of cartoon characters! At current market pricing, I simply don't see how the majority of youth today (assuming they even know the mint produces coins) will be able to start collecting. I was watching Mezak on HSN and he was selling a 2025 ASE S proof for $399 which was about what I bought my first 1914s 1oz AGE way, way back in the 70's! That purchase was expensive for me at the time, but it's turned out to be a profitable one. I doubt the same will be said for the folks buying those $399 Ag coins. Cheers

You are beyond welcome AK! Thanks for sharing the details on your “Sunflowers”! I agree with all you said about the release and how the Mint went about it. Also agree with what you said about it being a gorgeous coin and legs as far as how long and how quickly it gets there. Not to worry about your CACG coin, as since they tend to be a little stingier than other TPG’s when handing out grades, it’ll have demand for sure IMO.

Lastly I think we could see $50 and $4,000 by the end of this month and if not, definitely by year end. I believe you made the right call on Superman regarding legs long term and since you weren’t necessarily in love with it, it makes sense to keep that cash ready for a coin you do like. Thanks again for sharing your Sunflower purchases and notes with us! Take great care and we look forward to hearing more about your gold coin adventures!

AKBob,
Americans have been the spoiled kid in the monetary classroom - once the USD is not the standard fiat, things will rapidly unravel and the spoiled brats will get a quick education.

prayers continue for you, brother. Keep up the great attitude - the gold standard for success!

John Q, it’s a double edged sword! On one hand, us collectors of gold coins love them going up in value but the flip side is gold coins are getting very expensive even without a premium and with the Mints premiums, many of us won’t be able to continue purchasing Gold modern coins from the Mint, especially once the “Dynamic Pricing” is used for all precious metals!!! I include myself in that quandary! I will continue purchasing Pre ‘33 gold coins! I have no other choice, sadly! Most here know that I’m a Gold Bug in the good sense! I also was a silver stacker until I switched to gold! I’m very happy the Silver Stackers are finally getting their just deserts and I’m happy the gold bugs are seeing spot/melt go up a lot and fast! I think Silvers going to be a great investment in and for the future, for those that can’t afford to purchase gold or if they just don’t want to pay the high prices for gold coins, can still stack silver, for now anyways! I’m very concerned either way as the “value” of the US Dollar is headed downwards and many countries are trying to exit the US Dollar standard! When and it’s not if, it’s when the US Dollar “tanks” which it will inevitably “tank”, those holding Physical Gold & Silver, will be sitting pretty! I am baffled as to why Americans aren’t or don’t start investing more and more into gold and silver. Most citizens from foreign countries are investing in Gold!!!! I don’t know the answers but I’m prepared for the worst and am hoping for the best! For you Boy Scouts out there, remember their motto, “Be Prepared”!!!! Enjoy your coins, both Au & Ag!!! Buy what you like AND can afford!

Well, as always, Good Luck ALL!!!!

P. S. Where are you Keithster????? :(

Harry, if I might suggest - download the Kitco app, and view the 3 day chart.., you’ll be able to:

View Au/Ag across all the markets, across a 3 day window,

Get a feel for how the metals react to specific news events,

Develop a ‘gut sense’ as to the trend, across 3/30/60 day & 6 mos,

Concur with Rick, who’s always ‘spot on’ - I’ll go a tad bit further, APMEX lost my trust years ago.., prices are always jacked up, I can’t align their ‘spot figure’ with the markets.., and a bad experience or two..,

Cag does a lot of fancy, professional stuff with the metals, which I think is awesome. JMTC WRT the metals - the trend is your friend, and will continue to be your friend, we are in an unprecedented PM/Base Metal/EV Battery Chemical Secular growth story.., through 2035+. Should the S&P500 pull back 7-10% between now and 01 March ‘26.., the metals just might do the same, in which case I’ll just double down on SGOL, GLD, IAU, SIVR, PPLT, GLTR across my IRAs, HSA, & Self-directed.., we all will get a buying opportunity in the near-future, as 2025 smells a lot like 2021.., in many ways, sans the direction of interest rates,
