I hear you Cali, and am in the same camp as you regarding USM pricing of the numismatic silver products, especially the Silver Eagles. I plan on ordering the Navy privy and Marine Corps privy ASEs (and have already ordered the LESPS and Morgan & Peace RP set) and also hope any silver pricing increases don't occur before December.

Looking back at the American Silver Eagle program, it's striking to note the first year of issue 1986-S ASE Proof USM price was $21 and the first year of issue 2006-W ASE Uncirculated sold for $19.95. It is also remarkable that the total number of ASEs sold between 1986 and 2024 = 673,982,637 coins, of which Bullion ASEs = 640,570,114, Proof ASEs = 28,624,930 and Uncirculated ASEs = 4,787,593, according to one source: My Coin Guides, Silver Eagles (Coin Advisor, 2024).

Imagine if you had purchased the 1994-P ASE Proof from the Mint for $23 when it was released in 1994.

Here are the 1987 to 2008 Mint release prices for the ASE Proof coins:
1987 - 1997: price = $23.00
1998 - 2003: price = $24.00
2004 - 2005: price = $27.95
2007: price = $29.95
2008: price = $31.95
Note: 2006 price = $100 for the American Eagle 20th Anniversary Silver Coin Set

It would just be poor form and shit timing Rich. Profitable yes, however not a good look for already strained customer relations IMO. Many would be none the wiser, however the Mint really can’t afford additional bad press and risk of further alienating, what customer base they have left.

Definitely plausible! However, IMO this would also be another nail in the coffin for the U.S. Mint. Many customers have jumped ship over the years as the Mint has done mid/end of year silver product price increases. A further mutiny and abandonment by customers, with resultant hemorrhaging of sales in the future would be a likely affect IMO.

I feel confident that although they would still sell through remaining Navy Privy, Marine Corps Privy and LESPS inventories, with a price increase, I won’t be alone in abandoning ship on my planned Privy coins and LESPS purchases. I guess that would leave more for the limited amount of remaining customers to load up on or allow for the Big Guys to snag and slab more than they do already? I think unless we hit $50+ prior to the LESPS launch on November 6, IMO the Mint will hold tight on a price increase prior to year end? We will see? For my own selfish reasons, I really hope they don’t have a price hike prior to the Marine Corps Privy and LESPS release. Already not a fan of $105 or $255 and will definitely not purchase if prices go up.

PS Not sure if the Morgan and Peace $1’s could be any more dead in the water than they already are? With the exception of raising prices.

I noticed that $10 difference for the LESPS (2025-S silver proof set + 2025-S ASE) but considering it's the last year of this set and the limited mintage, it may appreciate more than the $10 offset in the future. May be something to bear in mind. As with all investments, it may not bear out. It's all speculation afterall. The 1994-P proof ASE was $65 at the time, which I thought was more than I was willing to pay for it. Turns out, it's more than that now. Maybe I should have bought it anyway. That's what's behind my thinking for buying the 2025-S LESPS. Only time will tell, obviously.
