Speaking for the youth of today (or therabouts), I can positively say that I value pre 1933 gold and my 1800 morgans the most out of my collection. Also the 1900's peace dollars but not to any considerable degree. I think the st gaudens is the most beautiful us coin ever produced.

I bought into the laser privy ASE as I thought the whole first laser cut dies in US was pretty cool and the 2025 ASE S that came out a few days ago as it is likely last of mint.

Speaking to medals, cultural icon quarters, etc. - I didnt buy into the innovation set nor would I buy into the comic coins. I got my 50 statehood quarters a long time ago and beyond that they dont seem worth chasing. Even the presidential dollars got hard towards the end to stay interested in. The limited mintage reflects limited interest in my mind, time will tell. I think the gold will hold its value best as it is gold and a coin but I dont see the silver doing as well.

I’d say xf45-au53 or so. 1891 most common avoid any with ‘details’. $4,ooo +/-, some a little overpriced but, lots around some of the XF even have some luster. Or a nice $5 CC or a 67 $2 1/2Liberty, lots of options. I need a $5 to complete a $5, $10 & $20:set.

It was actually @Rich that noticed the corrected mintage. I just commented afterward. I was just trying to see if the mintage made sense assume the 25EMAB was part of 25EM an 25EM040 wasn't, and 25RC contributed to the total.

In my novice opinion, 150 bps cuts by end of the year with the S&P 500 and Gold at all-time record highs, instead of the signaled 50 bps, is overly aggressive and could trigger $50 Silver by year end. Keeping with a gold-to-silver ratio of 85, we might see $50 Silver and $4,250 Gold around the end of 2025. Anyways, lets see what Jerome Powell has to say later today and what the slew of U.S. economic reports coming out this week tell us.

The 2025 S American Silver Eagle Proof(25EM), for all intents and purposes could maybe move to unavailable status in relative short order today? If you want one of these last of the ASE’s minted in San Francisco(S), want one in OGP versus slabbed, are not interested in shopping on the secondary market, would prefer a non-cherry picked reject from the 40-coin tray crowd, or are not wanting to have to buy as part of the 2025 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set(LESPS) for $255, you’d better be ready to rock and roll at 12pm ET today! There is a chance that the “wait room” may be in play?We shall see. Based on last years opening sales, these could be around a few days to possibly many weeks?

The Mint, as VinnieC noted, finally corrected the Mintage Limit, adjusting from 110K to 158,008, so they won’t be rare. However, they also will not be minted in San Francisco in 2026 and quite possibly never ever again? The last known sales(9/21/25) report indicates 91,162 sold, which would account for the 11K individual coins sold as product 25EMAB and the remaining 80,162 consisting of what was sold in subscription format. The HHL is 10 and there appears to be just 18,046 available for today’s drop scheduled for 12 noon ET.

After today, your options for a 2025 S ASE example from the U.S. Mint at an original issue price of $95 might be significantly reduced? Your options may then be limited to getting one of the sure(?) to quickly sell out LESPS(11/6), getting one from a large online retailer which will likely be a grading reject in OGP, or as a slabbed PR69/PR70 from any number of on-line retailers/sellers on the secondary market. Also, possibly in OGP from small time arbitragers on EBay or WhatNot?

Best of luck to anyone who wants 1 or more of these “last of” the S American Silver Eagle proofs! BTW, currently they are available for $129-$139 in NGC/PCGS PR70, however that price may begin to possibly increase slightly as demand potentially increases? In theory, there should initially be plenty to go around, with roughly 158K minted. 110K made up of individual coins using item numbers 25EM(99K) and 25EMAB(11K), 25K making up the LESPS using 25RC and another 23K in the 40-coin tray(575) bulk offering for the NBPP/ABPP using item number 25EM040.
PS Make sure you read listings if buying a slab on the secondary market and recognize that a listing that says 2025 S$1 are typically the non-mint marked bullion version and not S mint marked proofs. S$1 simply represents “silver” $1. The price can entice as bullion ASE’s(S$1) are minted in the millions and typically sell for less than the proof S mint marked versions minted in the 100K-200K+ range. PSS The 2024 first reported sales were for 119K on 9/11 after dropping on 9/7. The next report on 9/18 showed 123,883. I definitely do not expect the 575 40-coin trays to move to unavailable for many months and possibly a year or longer?

CaliSkier, I remember. Talk about milking collectors. I passed on all of those. Uncirculated, Specimen and regular Proof sets were good for me. The Proof cent is 100% copper. I did buy a commemorative 1911-2011 Canadian coin set, housed in velvet, in a very nice wood box. A nice set to commemorate the first year of King George V's reign and what the set would have looked like in 1911 had the silver dollar been minted. The 1911 silver dollar is, perhaps, the rarest of Canadian coins with only two silver dollars minted. One is in the national collection and the other in private hands.

Thanks for this update CaliSkier. No word if there'll be circulation cents. Intend to buy sets anyway, for the 250th Anniversary of the American revolution. Others I may pass on due to cost. No plans for anymore gold. At almost $3,800 an ounce, it's a bit much for me. I thought $999 for the 10th anniversary AGE with W ASE and the 2006 American Gold Buffalo was a lot. By today's standards, they were a bargain. I knew it and that's why I bought them. Beautiful coin sets for their $1,998 combined price.
I bought all the Canadian cents offered in 2012, except for the silver set. Also didn't buy the four coin set of cents. I'm only missing the copper plated zinc (nonmagnetic) 2012 cent. I have a nice cent set, 1937-1977. When I lived there, anyone could still find King George VI coins of all denominations in change. Also 80% and 50% silver coins.
