Would love to see a 99.9% silver 1804 Bust dollar “2nd restrike” next year. That would be a dream. Even at $5,000 – $5,500 each, the gold coins will sell out in minutes (maybe I’m overly optimistic). Maybe the hot one next year. Too hot for me though.

I have twice had problems with coins shipped from Irving, TX. Never had a problem with coins coming from the Memphis, TN distribution center.

The most recent issue was with my Morgan & Peace coins. Both coins arrived in the Irving distribution center the same day three hours apart. The Peace dollar arrived at the Kansas City, KS distribution center a day later and was in my mailbox the next day. That is the normal process for coins coming from TX.

But my Morgan tracking was stuck at Irving. I filed a missing package report and the USPS finally found it five days later at a post office at Columbia, MO and still took three more days to deliver it. Annoyingly two days before my package was even found they sent me a survey to comment on how I felt about their missing package service. They did not get a good review.

Previously I had the same problem with an ASE shipment. It turned up in Topeka, KS a week later.

Sorry Chris. Hope it shows up. Wish I had an extra one that I could send your way. That would be nice if they could send them to the mint in D.C. since you are so close. Best to you in recovering this coin.

I work close to the US Mint Shop in Washington, D.C., wonder if I can just get these coins delivered there for pick up? Next time I walk over there I’ll check with them. Most likely not available.

Thank you Jeff. I am an experienced seller online selling vacuum tubes so I know all the horror stories with the Post Office and their hiccups. Yes, many times the parcels are found and delivered late and sometimes it’s gone forever into the postal quagmire.

I’m hoping the Mint may have an extra few coins left for circumstances like this to resend to customers. But I’m thinking the Mint supply is probably dried up.

I’ve now had items not delivered to me from the big three: USPS, FedEx and UPS. Always the expensive items. USPS silver coin, FedEx a new mobile phone, and UPS a new watch.

Yes, something as expensive as your gold and palladium coins I’d figure that’s the best route to go and pick them up. Maybe your regular postal carrier was out and the local Post Office didn’t trust the replacement carrier?
