Yep, this could get interesting, as there are a few serious Sac collectors out there I've heard...
"Only the 12 best strikes were selected for flight aboard Space Shuttle Columbia, and the remaining 27 Sacagawea coins were destroyed. Of the 12 survivors in 22 karat gold, only seven will be available for public ownership, and these will be presented exclusively in the Stack’s Bowers Galleries sale. The United States Mint has confirmed that the remaining five coins will be archived in their heritage collection and permanently out of reach for collectors."

REB, I miss the contents we are paying for that used to come inside the box of cereal! LOL Shrinkflation, has literally eaten away at our pocketbooks and what we get for the money we pay. Not LOL.

Rick, thanks for the heads up and link re: the 2000 Sacagawea 22K Gold coins, that were flown into space on a Space Shuttle mission, being offered up in a Stack’s Bowers auction! Major piece of numismatic history becoming a part of a few collections is pretty neat. Wonder if they will get the prices and recognition they deserve? Very rare and amazing that the U.S. Mint is monetizing them and making available to auction off IMO? Also makes me wonder a bit about those 5 remaining coins and if those will manage to end up in the Smithsonian, ANA Museum or if one or more will be pilfered or possession taken by a POTUS, that thinks they are entitled to do such? Anyhow, thanks again for passing along the information!

Yeah. I saw the Cheerios Dollars. I had heard of them but didn't know the backstory. Sounds like the Jackson 5 singles that used to be part of the back of cereal boxes. I miss free stuff in (and on) boxes of cereal.
