Rick,

Wow! You've been busy. In all, you have some really great coins there Rick. Just one question: Are we done with the toners now? I've always felt that toners were a little risky. IMO, there is nothing better than a pristine spotless coin. You have a couple of really nice Kennedys that I wouldn't mind seeing in my Lighthouse cases. Thanks for the pics!

Here are the seven lowly losers of the bunch, CAC-Cut them alright!
I'm particularly bummed about all three NGC coins to the right. They all did not cross at PCGS either - double fail. Also bummed on the '68-D PCGS MS67 mild toner fail, it's a nice coin, and I'd guess that they saw PVC residue? The $2.5 gold might have residue too, or the MS67+ non stickered coin is too much for CAC to approve?
Anyway, win some, lose some...

Below is another combo pic showing the crossover coins - they made the CAC-cut. I did expect all of those to cross - nice coins. Moderns on the left - classics on the right.
The '64 Kennedy Toner on the left is the only toner (out of 5 Kennedy toners) to make the CAC-Cut. More in a sec.

And, since all four of the classics on the right were previously in a PCGS holder with a green sticker, they obviously passed. They were in damaged/cracked holders, so off they went for a facelift...

CAC-Grading sent back my coins. I've posted a few of these coins before(TPG-pics). The majority of them were crossover attempts, with a few coins being new, first time raw subs. They sent them in their new 20 coin box, like PCGS does for their customers at no charge fwiw. The CAC box is noticeably larger, as it's a universal box that fits all TPG coins comfortably. Here is a 'combo pic' of the CAC box, and two(of four) 1st time raw subs. The CC-GSA was held back from my prior GSA sub because I was on the fence with deciding to crack & grade at PCGS, or have CAC strap-grade it. I'm pleased with my choice, along with CAC adding a plus(+) to the grade ✓
PS: The small yellow baggies contain the 'crackout-cross' old labels for me to keep...

Concerning the packaging, the certificates for the Superman gold coin and 2 1/2 ounce silver medal are supposed to be numbered, so maybe the packaging will be in the form of a comic book or booklet.

there were only ever 3 groups that really wanted (and lobbied for) cents to continue to be made: (1) zinc miners, (2) nostalgics (in particular, abraham lincoln fans), and (3) charities that depend on loose change. it's possible the mint workers might also have wanted to keep them going for nothing else than job security (since roughly half of the time spent minting coins were for cents). The zinc miners were probably the most vocal (and spent the most time and money keeping it going).

that being said, the mint could still do limited runs of collector-only cents from time to time and sell for a hefty premium, plus they could just use the original copper alloy rather than copper-coated zinc.

I believe I have finally answered my own question regarding the omission of the 2025 date on the 1oz sized Superman and date/year of issue for other 1oz Comic Art silver medals.

The date has been left off, as there is no mintage or product limit and they sincerely thought these would sell like hotcakes at $135 a pop, and they wanted the ability to keep pumping them out for the next 3 years or longer? Had the 2025 issues sold as they had forecasted or anticipated, they could just replenish inventory and produce more Superman and Batman 1oz medals in 2026 & 2027, as well as any others selling successfully at the very least, without the “perceived” expiration date. Sales for the Superman Ag 1oz stands at 16,200 as of August 25. Definitely not “flying” off the shelves!

The 2025 American Liberty(AL) Gold(Au) coin now says 7,350 per this latest(8/25) report, the AL Silver(Ag) Medal says 28,888 and the 2025 Sacagawea says 7,491 up from 7,444. The latest sales report numbers for the Superman Au 1 oz is 5,820 and the Ag 2 1/2oz Medal is 12,645.

As of 9:15am ET the Superman products still show 1,178 1oz Au coins , 6,274 2.5oz Ag medals and 71,648 1oz Ag medals available to purchase.(“ats”) A reminder that the Au 1oz and Ag 2 1/2oz medals had stated maximum mintages of 10K and 25K respectively.

Interestingly enough the fictional Superman 2 1/2oz Ag Medal is slated to outsell(19,920+/-) the REAL “Supermen and Superwomen” 2 1/2oz sized U.S Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard Ag Medals by roughly 10K each. The Superman Ag 1oz still has some work to do however, in order to catch and surpass the Ag 1oz military medals, also with no stated mintage limit, which have been and will be on sale indefinitely. Those sales are as follows: Army 19,869, Navy 25,255, Air Force 23,559, Marine Corps 22,649, and Coast Guard 19,559.

The Mint appears to have produced or forecasted sales of 70%, 80%, 61%, 48% and 99,98% respectively, for the Superman Au 1oz, Superman Ag 2 1/2oz, AL Au, AL Ag, and Sacagawea Au, when compared to their stated maximum mintage limits. PS I wonder if the clad 3-medal sets will also not have a mintage/product limit and omit the year/date of issue as well? Based on the lackluster sales for the 1oz Ag medals, the likely high price($205) on the clad sets, IMO they should limit those to 35K max each. BTW 35K is too many, however they could produce less than 25,000 and see how those sell and increase the 2026 and 2027 production runs slightly, if the inaugural Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman sets do well.
