I had an Econ prof who was about on the same level as Cag. I got one of my few Cs from him. Must run in the profession - my 3.85 GPA grandson got his first C at the University level in his second year Econ class.

You may want to invest in a good 10" Digital Microscope.

Personally, overall I have mot had a great experience with this IPhone 16 Pro Max’s photo capabilities. Many websites mention untold number of unhappy consumers when it comes to picture and video qualities and capabilities. Yes I’ve tried every known troubleshooting measure, short of returning it, knowing that this phone models camera basically sucks! Anyhow, here is the best I could manage, attempting to capture the Kennedy anomalies.

In reply to <a href="https://www.coinnews.net/2025/08/22/wonder-woman-coin-and-medal-designs-unveiled/#comment-564232">E 1</a>.

E1, there is a tiny bit of light deflection due to needing to take the picture at a slight angle to prevent my phone’s reflection in the lens. However, I do also notice weakness in the strike at the “lowest” olive leaf as well. Nothing notable was detected with the obverse.

Now, curse you Jeff Legan! Just kidding(JK). Jeff’s comment about his quarters toning, got me to actually take a closer peek again at those and sure enough, 3 out of 5 have light goldish, almost coppery looking toning on the face of the rims. One coin at 9:00-11:00, one at 4:00-6:00, the other at 5:00-8:00. Additionally a much deeper gold/copper color noted when attempting to view the side view or edge of reeds. Enough to make me wonder initially if these were clad planchets. However, upon looking at the entire circumference, you can tell visually they indeed are silver vs clad. On the quarters, the toning, at least on my examples has not progressed to the fields yet. Yet! One of the others, so technically 4 of 5 quarters, just has the toning present on the reeded edge, which I’ll assume at some point will progress to the face of the rim and into the fields. Also, one of the quarters has a noticeable blemish in the field below the obverse bust of GW, below LGF initials. The only unblemished quarter is the one mounted in the center.

Also noticed finning on the quarters as well as the Kennedy half. With the Kennedy, it appears to have either denticles at 5:30-6:30 on the obverse in the field along the rim, or the finning possibly damaged the lens((rim scratches) when coin was placed in the lens. Something funky going on with lens or coin, however w/out being able to open lens with out destroying or exposing to more unwanted damage I’ll just leave it alone.

Lastly, I’m not sure if I’m grateful or not that Rick and yourself began commenting frequently on the ole’ MNB and crossed the street over here to Coin News? LOL You both have inspired me and I’d never looked so closely at coins as I have and do now! In all seriousness, I sincerely am thankful,as you both have gotten me to look much closer and deeper down the rabbit hole. Coins are fascinating on so many levels and provide much entertainment, as well as never ending learning! Thanks for all the knowledge, insight, tips, camaraderie and picture you’ve both shared! Cheers!

PS A thought I had, was that the finning,’has either trapped or allowed air to infiltrate the lens easier contributing to the toning observed? The Kennedy has faint toning appearing on the face of the rim on obverse, where I noted either the rim scratched lens or possible field damage, which have an almost denticles looking appearance or symmetry, matching the reeded edge spacing.
