She's holding an olive branch, someday perhaps you'll understand its symbolism. KC's correct, it's a Vulture, but disguised as an Eagle coming out from behind the dark clouds to steal the branch from Liberty. Someday, perhaps you'll understand the meaning of Liberty and Freedom. The Vulture is quickly leaving with the branch to redistribute it equally over at the Commune - something that you certainly condone.

It certainly looks like she's shooing the eagle away with the whatever she's holding in her hand -- and the bird is leaving as fast as it can on the other side. Perhaps its symbolically depicting authoritarianism chasing away democracy? We'll see.

LMAO! That’s hilarious…,

WIth the bride’s maid dress going on there.., she’s looks like she’s one pissed off bride’s maid, that caught the bouquet.., and said, “to the hell with this…, I’m getting a cat” and decided to toss said bouquet off the cliff.., to an unsuspecting vulture in the foreground.., who’s wondering when he gets to swoop down for the shrimp cocktail….

To your point - I have no clue what they’re thinking with these modern renditions.., especially the Mermaid on the Merc/Winged Liberty?

Perhaps Mr. Cag can confirm if there’s USM / Walt Disney cahoots thing going on…. But Mermaids? I love them.., just not on my coins/medals….

Wow, talk about annihilating my infomercial Rick! To think, a CAC sticker and original issue PCGS holder being placed on a tall pedestal? I know it’s numismatic history. I know people are into collecting all kinds of things, including but by no means limited to, ABC(already been chewed) gum, salivated and slobbered on by celebrities, locks of hair, and other oddities one can only imagine or maybe would rather not? However to already be at $22,450 over PCGS list price for a piece of old plastic that allows for the coin to rattle around in and an adhesive backed, oval shaped small piece of green vinyl plastic, is absurd!

A perfect example of an item being “only worth”, what someone is willing to pay! Dang, 12X the price of the $1,820 piece of plastic I outlined above…. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, for sure. Then again, one lucky bidder picked up the PCGS, Fred Weinberg “Slabbed Cricket” for just a hair(pun intended) under $6,000.

The below article, ironically by Steve Roach, covering the cricket for Coin World: “PCGS-slabbed cricket brings nearly $6,000”. There is definitely a market for old original and unique NGC and PCGS holders and people will definitely pay a premium for them!

I already have those in Au, albeit without the privy, but I don't have to own everything...right? Personally, I would love all of these coins in silver. In any event, it's going to shave a bit of money off the books next year with what I'm expecting the mint to charge for these pieces. Cheers

An 1881-S Morgan Dollar graded MS-63 is priced at $90.

Buy the holder - not the coin!...
