Oh, & one other thought.., the USM is very generous in the time allotment before they cancel an order due to credit card.., you may have some order cancellations from credit card issues, or snookery associated around the HHL of 1..,

Though I dare to say, most people that order a $2,100+ gold coin can also manage their credit card, or they’re not solvent for very long.., so personal cancellations most likely the flavor of the day…, hope this helps,

Bruce, it depends.., On the average - Yes,

However, a gold SacaG is NOT an AVERAGE release.., Let’s break it down…

On these ‘hot’ one-off releases, especially anything in gold, with reasonable low mintage.., You want to see -

1) Strong one day sales to CU,
2) A CU that remains CU..,

Though a few here and there is normal,

This tells you that the buyers have bought, along with the AP’s and the coins are in strong hands,

What you’re seeing with SacaG is -

1) A LOT of cancellations, and buyers remorse..,
2) The Availability numbers in the morning ARE HIGH, like 75+, 100+, and the mint made some available around noon the other day, which is not normal,

So what you’re witnessing with SacaG is not normal, for the uniqueness of the offering,

Personally, I think SacaG and Superman will follow the trajectory of the 2014 gold Kennedy, which was by the fall, and then spring of 2015, the gold JFK could be had below mint price, and a reasonable premium over spot (for about 2 weeks), what I just said is exact, as I lived it, and anyone’s that says to the contrary is full of it, and I really think that’s where these two are headed.., they will rebound in time, either with spot increase, or from a new found class of collectors…. IDK, What your seeing with these two, you will not see with the sunflower, and perhaps Batman…

In reply to Helen Vasquez.

Helen these are worth $1 face value at a grocery store, car wash or vending machine. On eBay, roughly $2-$3 which doesn’t include the money spent by the seller in EBay fees, packaging materials and shipping costs, as well as time spent to put into the mail stream.

Now as far as if they are holdered or slabbed by a third party grader(TPG) such as CACG, PCGS, NGC or ANACS, you’re looking at a value of say $5-$7 on the low end for say a MS65(mint state) and upwards of $200-$300+\-, for a top grade of MS69. Over the years many buyers have paid WAY too much for graded examples by $100’s or even $1,000’s of dollars. Caveat Emptor!

PS There are outliers, such as the 2000 “Cheerios” coins with a unique reverse design, which sell for $2,000-$8,000 plus depending on grade. Then there are the error coins also known as “Mules”, where a George Washington quarter image is on the front(obverse), which has been paired with the Sacagawea reverse and those sell for $100K-$200K each! The last “Mule” to appear at auction, with buyers fees, sold for a whopping $192,062.50 in January 2024. Only an estimated 5,500 “Cheerio” dollars were produced and there are so far, only about 20 of the year 2000 “Mule” coins known. PSS Picture below is of the 2000 P Sacagawea Mule obverse. Again this is a 2000 Sacagawea $1 coin and planchet, with the normal flying eagle reverse and wrong obverse. Improperly matched dies were used to produce.
