But if I look back at history, the decision to discontinue striking fractional platinum eagles and fractional buffalo for 2009 was made the year before "... As a result of the numismatic product portfolio analysis." Similarly the absence of the 2022 peace dollar because of the lack of planchets, tells me the time line for new coins is around a year. But those examples are from normal times and one might well say that we no longer live in normal times.

In reply to REB. REB: Major adjustments need to be applied. A lot of inventory sitting on shelves and the cost of the cent and nickel. But you do bring a good point... Answer to your question, the Mint pretty well calls their on shots. IMO they could remove items on a whem and say in their news letter we not produce. That's that.
