You are correct E1,
That’s why Grey Wholesale looked like greedy fools. On the 12th they conveniently changed their posture to the real world.
This was a retail auction from the very beginning that effectively removed the big boys, bulksters, and advance sellers from buying(with the exception of buying for clients).
I for one am glad that the dealers sat on the sidelines with their mouths hanging open in disbelief as to what they were witnessing…

Just curious as to what the Grey Sheet is. I've always thought it was wholesale Bid/Ask. Please advise

Red Book is a great guide no doubt. Very valuable info in there, same thing with the Cherry-picker guides. I’d like to try out a new Mega Red when available?
Just don’t take their valuation forecasts(Greysheet team)too seriously?
A couple of days before the FHG Privy auction, Greysheet had the coins valued at $10,000 to $14,500 ea. So if you used that as a basis for your bidding & budget strategies, well, enough said!
A week before the auction, Rick said; “No 70 coin will sell for less than $30k”(here),
“I’m fully prepared to spend $30k for a FHG, and a 69 at that”(other forum)..

John F, what happened with that Greysheet & CPG Price Guide for the FHGw/Privy, why so far off? Were the contributing Dealers being that greedy & hopeful with these weak numbers? Perhaps not realizing that the “retail collectors”(me)were going to be there in full force?
