E 1, how long do you think it’ll be before these start growing “Legs”? I’m thinking the Dealers still selling these will keep the price fairly close to where they are now. So as long as Dealers have these and until they don’t, I don’t see any real “Legs” till that’s done with. Raw/ungraded/uncertified ones already have $1K+ premium from the Mint and the Dealers mark up on graded examples of another $1K+, so these are already selling consistently for about $2K over the release price of I think was $3640 or $3690. The inventory on Ebay is approx 300 and it’s holding. Some dealers have more than one in the examples they’re selling. That’s still a large amount/inventory available. It’s Christmas time and money is tight for folks, including coin collectors. I don’t see much happening for any upside till maybe the Spring time. Folks need to recuperate from the December Holidays. I’m very satisfied with my three examples. I may pick up a couple more before these grow their “Legs”! ;)

Well, as always, Good Luck ALL!!!

AkBob,

May the force always be with you and keep on fighting the dark side. Concerning the Star ASE's, why do folks think one from the 1st 50k is somehow a special collectable and must demand a sticky price point? I'm no Archimedes, but 50k doesn't strike me as a limited item, or is it now called a subset, of 500k produced. I'll bet Magic Mike, the alleged creator of modern era coin grading, goes to bed with a smile on his face seeing how collectors scramble for every new issue of graded coin labels. I often say it's the label that folks buy and btw, it comes with a coin. Lol. Also, as we say in the stock market, it never hurts to take a profit! Good for you Bob!

Rick, yeah my other thought was the laser doing the texture could have overshot and treated part of the field with the frosting texture to give that doubling effect. Let us know when you put it under the loop or microscope.

Craig,

the ones that are going for $400+ are MS70 but they’re from the First 50,000 produced AND if they’re in a black core holder they’re even higher priced. I purchased five when they first were offered for $99 each. I sold them ALL the next day for $200 each. I made a quick $500. Now, those same ones are $500+each!! I purchased them about a month and a half ago, maybe more, I forget and they were just shipped to me today. I have not received them so I couldn’t have possibly shipped them out to My Buyers. They weren’t supposed to be shipped till 12/22, so I was very happy about getting them sooner. I could cancel all five of those sales and realist them for $500 and they’d sellout in one day and I’d make $2000 profit instead of $500. Fortunately for My Buyers, I don’t play that way!! When I make a deal, I stick to it no matter. I’ve had Sellers cancel my order because the price/value went up way more than anyone expected and I lost out because the Seller cancelled my order. When that happens to Me, I get very miffed. It’s very tempting, I’ll admit to do that but I just can’t in good conscience do it tho. I have principles and morals and I won’t do it for money or lust, lol! Some here may think I’m crazy for passing up $2000 profit rather than $500. Maybe I am but I tell you this, when I go to bed at night, I fall asleep right away because I ALWAYS have a clear conscience. I don’t have to worry about looking over my shoulder because I’ve wronged someone. I’ve lived my life this way and I believe in Karma or what goes around, comes around. I’ve had friends tell me that I’m waaaay too Honest. I tell them there’s no such thing as being waaaay to Honest. I’m just wired this way and I refuse to act like many of the dishonest, greedy SOB’s that are part of this Hobby and I’m sure most here know exactly what I’m talking about. This isn’t the “good ole buddy” hobby, it’s full of cut throats but I’m NOT one of them. I’m 70 now and it’s waaaay too late for me to change or live another way. I hope others can respect the way I am. ;)

Well, as always, Good Luck ALL!!!
