Thanks Cali for following up with asking for Erica, I will mention her name in my letter(I won't call!). Thanks for relaying the customer service tips that she gave you initially!
I'll take it from here and use the advice that you have given me. I have all original auction data regarding this coin, to the reholder service, to now. Along with my personal comparative photos that I have shared here. I'll present to them, what I've presented to you...
I don't have the coin with me unfortunately, it's back in Denver and I'm in Orlando for at least 4 weeks. But for now the ball is just getting rolling....
I'm sure that the CS guy was swamped(and short)today because Monday's must be their busiest day of the week. Sunday is Auction night. They move a lot of inventory after Sunday nights, and deal with a lot of people Monday morning I'd guess!

I had lost hope, but thanks to your
inspiration Cali, Kaiser, Guru, Bob and others I have renewed hope! There's no guarantee, but you never know?..
As I've said before, we'll see what happens!?

Whew, Rick.. do yourself a favor and if you haven’t called GC yet, you probably shouldn’t. Just compose your letter/e-mail and send to “customer support, attention: Raleen or Ian. The person I spoke with when I called back to get her name, seemed a little flustered and a bit annoyed. By me not having an item number to provide or an account as of yet with them, he was annoyed for sure. I’m leaving his name out of this due to trying to protect him from any unneeded or unwarranted scrutiny. He told me that he believed that it was “Erica” that I’d spoken with and I’ll leave it at that. They definitely can’t make the favorable decision you’re seeking via calling, so to be redundantly clear, do not call them. Just write a nice e-mail with all pertinent information: Date of purchase, Item #, amount paid, what action you’ve taken to get re-slabbed, when you discovered, upon comparison to your MS69’s, that the coin was silver and your hopes of there possibly being something that might be able to be done, regarding a favorable outcome for yourself.Calling at this point, may prove to be disadvantageous at this point unles you’ve already called. Since Erica said to e-mail customer support as her last bit of information relayed, go with her suggestion as your likely to get a Big Fat No” if you talk to the gentleman I spoke with, which is unfortunate. E-mail and make sure to “thank them for their time and consideration as a loyal GC customer”. Wishing you the “Greatest” luck in your current and future dealings with GC! Cali

Cali,
Wow that's some hopeful information, and thank you very much!
My plan was to contact them this week, and since you put a bug in their ear about my dilemma, that can only help!
Much appreciated for your caring and your persistence!
Did you, or do you remember who the person was that you were talking too by name?
I hope Ian and company can work some magic here, after all, PCGS is GC's largest TPG partner, maybe they can work something out together!?!!
What you have done was very kind,
Thanks Cali!

Rick, I just got off the phone with GC and there may be hope. The woman whom called, listened intently to my description of the scenario with your 2014 S Kennedy Half silver coin mislabeled by PCGS as being the 2014 D clad, 1 of 4, valued by PCGS at $3,500. She said to write a letter, describing details, which you described to us here on Coin News and submit, via e-mail to Great Collections Customer Support. It would indeed need to be approved by Ian or Raleen. I told them a friend had purchased this coin back in April, and that I understood that the time elapsed may be a factor. I’d mentioned their return guarantee. I had let them know that the coin had originally been mislabeled by PCGS, sold to you via auction for roughly $2,300 and after receiving, that you had submitted the coin to PCGS for reholdering in a into a GoldShield, TruView slab. Also, that upon recently comparing to a MS69 coin of the same type in your collection, you discovered the coin to be silver and not clad, so you had a coin valued at roughly $150, vs the $3,500 valuation that PCGS places on the clad version. She took notes and said she’d attach it to my file. I had reiterated that I was calling on behalf of a friend that had indicated he might just “eat” the loss w/out taking action. So it’s on their radar at this point and you might indicate a friend had called also about the same scenario/coin, whom called on your behalf due to caring about you and your loss. Of course that is your decision on what you relay. Might lessen any confusion. I mention, as I recall reading somewhere, while researching, that selling the coin or attempting to, would void any recourse you may have. Although we all know you weren’t selling, my having placed a call may trigger some inquiry as to whether that was the case. Anyhow, I’d highly recommend that you send them a letter via customer support, sooner than later if you haven’t already done so. Again, wishing you the utmost “Best of Luck”! PS I hope I haven’t upset you by trying to help a fellow “Coinee” out? I know this was NOMB, however you did post this info to E1/All originally, so I was only trying to help and do apologize, if I overstepped by calling on your behalf, as a friend. Sincerely, CaliSkier
