In reply to CaliSkier. I'll only buy next year's silver proof AWQs. After that, I'm done with it. Other coins may follow suit soon after. Although for the 250th coins I may give it some consideration. Depends how they appear to me and the cost.

Well, my attempt to post a photo of the 1595 Thaler of Rudolph II crashed & burned. Seems my pic was too big – the limit is 2MB; my pic was over 2X that size. Now I need to figure out how to make lower resolution pics on my wife’s phone. Aargh! Digital media and dinosaurs like me just don’t seem to play well together…

After over 50 years of collecting coins I can honestly say that I am so disappointed in the Us Mint which has become a political arm of the current political party. I have enjoyed reading all of the posts in all the blogs. This is my first post and will be my last concerning the hobby I have loved for so many years. My dad and I loved so much to understand that it was not collecting the coins but understanding the history behind of the dates associated with the coins. So for all of you I have read your posts and enjoyed so much I wish you all well but I fear that collecting coins will soon n be a hobby of the past. I hope am I wrong.
