Major D said:”Buying one 100g Dragon gets you 1,444 discount points = $14.44 off your next purchase, not the Dragon purchase so it’s misleading knocking that amount off of the Dragon coin then making per oz comparisons.” Not true, I am not, nor will I ever mislead or tell 1/2 the story to prove a point, it’s just not in my nature: Ok, let me start over, by saying that the overall clarity of the explanation on the GW site, isn’t “crystal clear” and does leave some room for interpretation. Having literally purchased thousands of dollars in RCM product from them(2008-present), I have actual, real life experience with them. Also, you can not see the discount unless you have logged in or created an account(have to stay logged in to see), that being said, there is then the reality. You “do not” accumulate/“earn” VIP points, “for use later”, nor do they count “towards your next purchase”. They are active/live, taken off the purchase price, as I mentioned before, at the time of sale/accumulation, upon placing your order or moving to final checkout review. If you set yourself up an online account with them, using your e-mail address and a password you create, you will see “exactly”, what you will see in the screen shot below, that I attached. If you put that item or any that have the VIP badge, in your cart and you are logged in or onto your newly generated account, you will see those points at checkout, plain as day. Those VIP points count “now”, for “this” purchase and this purchase only. Again, there is no stockpiling or accumulation, for later use, of VIP points, except they do accumulate within an order, if multiple items are ordered at the same time. Those points then are taken off your order upon moving to checkout, right then and there, at the time of your final review, prior to having to enter your CC info. BTW, you can not store a CC for use in your account, like you can with the USM, so one does have to enter that information, prior to the transaction completion or becoming finalized. Why would I try to intentionally or other wise, mislead other collectors? I truly pride myself in sharing accurate information, at all times when possible. Yes, I am also human, so I can and do make mistakes, however this isn’t one of them. I guess, next thing you’re going to say, is that I’ve already purchased one and the points you see are from a previous purchase? I did hem and haw over, picking one up for my brother’s B-day, however I didn’t think he’d appreciate it, due to it being a RCM product vs USM. Even though he was born in the “Year of the Wood Dragon”, of which this coin gives a nod to, with laser engraving “wood grain”, around the perimeter, no dice. Due to total cost and my lack of funds, I passed. I’d like one for myself, however my current coin budget is nil. That’s why, if the USM raises prices on clad product before the 2024 Unc Set release at the end of the month, I’m done with the USM. As of now my only USM purchase this year will be for the 2 Uncirculated Coin Sets I’ve got on subscription, for now. Please, no more replies, on this topic, unless you have a question about making a purchase from GateWest, “after” first creating an account. The details I’ve provided are “facts” and can be replicated or found by “anyone”. Thx Lastly, I want to give one last tip: Make sure to tally any VIP points for a given purchase prior to finalizing. Then you’ll at least, have the option to call GW, discuss options, if there is a discrepancy on points issued/earned for a given sale, being accounted for prior to finalization. If there is a mistake(online) on that VIP point tally by GW, no matter the reason or proof provided and you finalize it online, you likely will be left “high and dry”, as to my recollection they do not have the ability to issue a credit, alter or amend a sale, do a CC charge back, or issue VIP points towards another purchase. Reality sucks sometimes! To clarify, I’m specifically referring to a VIP points tally error for a given purchase. PS You might possibly be able to cancel an order via a phone call, however the timing of your shipment can have an impact.

AND, Those 3 Unc ASE’s youMajor D) threw into the proof coin pool, for comparison would end up being $92.98/oz w/shipping and a difference of 7.76% more than the proof “Dragon”. Point being, most RCM silver offerings are now out priced by our own USM. PS I also do not favor the painted coins, Swarovski Crystal coins or Diamond encrusted bejeweled coins from the RCM. However I’ll
say, I wouldn’t mind having anyone of the Royal Canadian Mint coins that made up the “Opulence” Collection! Especially the “Ultimate”, which sold for $1.2 million.($1,003,112 USD at the time 2022) Link below to the RCM “Opulence Collection” Coinweek had published a nice article on “The Ultimate, as well. Titled: “The Ultimate, One-of-a-Kind Coin From the Royal Canadian Mint, Surpasses $1.2 Million”

V.I.P. discount is not offered on every single GW offering, however literally almost(95% or more) every single coin offered up at GateWest, has an associated and attached VIP point total. I haven’t seen ALL your purchases from GW, however I would say with 99.99% certainty, “YOU” have indeed received VIP discounts from GW! That is unless all of your purchase were ordered via phone(vs online), bullion or “on sale”, similar to that smoking deal on the 2 sets we both ordered: “Combo 2017 and 2018 'Coin Lore' 3-Coin Sets .9999 Fine Silver”.

Zero “Red Hereings”, here as I specialize in finding “FACTS”! You said: “I have ordered from Gatewest and I never received any VIP discount.” This is either a Major mistake on your part or I hate to say it, however since you are instigating and acting inflammatory, a flat out “bold faced” fib! Look for the V.I.P. Badge, right next to each coin on the main page, then open any one of them(products) that has it and you’ll again see the VIP badge(under Prices) and an associated point total. For sake of convenience I’ve linked the V.I.P. page. Read up and get “educated”, as you like to say. “At Gatewest Coin, everyone is a VIP!” PS Don’t forget to read the “Fine Print” at the bottom for exclusions. PS Shop around and where you like, just be “completely informed” before doing such or commenting on such and beware of following any facts that can NOT BE found!

Major D said: “At $288.88 + $5 postage = $293.88 from Gatewest for 3.215 troy oz = $91.41 per troy oz of silver.” Unfortunately this is incorrect, as you forgot to account for or deduct the $14.44 V.I.P. discount taken at checkout. Gotta love that “Red Herring” you throw in to try and confuse the situation? Proof coins w/out shipping is what I’d compared. As you noticed(?), I did not include the shipping charges in my computations, nor did I compare the less expensive uncirculated coins.. I do “not” believe that many or most(?) purchasers of US Mint ASE’s are subscribers. If we compare apples to apples, of the proof coins(outlined) w/out shipping, at GateWest vs USM, in the example and data I provided, GW beats USM. Now, if you want to add shipping, add it to both products I’d outlined. That would be $274.44 + $5.00 shipping for a total of $279.44. That works out to $279.44/3.2389oz’s or $86.28/oz. That(USM) would also be 3*$95 or $285 + $5.95 shipping for a total of $290.95 or $96.98/oz, a difference of $10.70/oz or 12.4% to be exact. PS If possible, Major D, Kaiser, others, if it’s not too much to ask, can you “please” add onto the end of the thread as DaveSWFL has suggested previously? If that doesn’t work for you, we that have grown accustomed to searching for where the latest post occurs can manage. Just makes following along easier….Unless fishing for Red Herring? PSS The purchase of 3, 2024 Liberty and Britannia “proof” 1oz silver medals for $312 + $5.95 shipping, works out to $105.98/oz, which is 22.8% more than the “Dragon”!.(“Buy what you like!”(Tony@GA), or to “Each their own”!(Kaiser)
