AKBob, great questions on the 2020-W $50 Proof Gold Eagle - v75 privy. According to the PCGS Price Guide and Price History, here is how the average dealer asking prices for the PCGS First Strike PR-69 and PR-70 have fared since the 2020-W $50 Gold Eagle -v75 privy was released:

PR-69 First Strike current price = $14,000; Price history started at $12,500, then in April 2022 rose to $14,000 and has stayed at that price to present (6/15/2024).

PR-70 First Strike current price = $25,000; Price history started at $14,500, then in April 2022 jumped up to $19,000, and peaked at $28,000 in February 2023, then dropped to $26,000 in April 2023, and lowered to $25,000 in October 2023, and has stayed at $25,000 to present.

ALL, as I commented on a different Post I made, I’ve pretty much lost ALL interest in the new Morgan/Peace Silver Dollars, including the 2021’s!! I was initially very excited and was originally going to collect everyone that’s produced each year, both ungraded and certified 70’s, by PCGS with the First Strike, Flag Label! I’ve already sold my 2021 First Strike and First Day of Issue sets that were MS70’s! I’ve been working on selling the rest, approximately 100 more I purchased besides the FS & FDOI sets! There’s probably only a few silver co8ns I’ll be collecting in the future, if 5heres a low m8ntage coin released, I’d b3 8nterested in it, maybe to keep or maybe to flip. Depends on whether it “blows my skirt up” or not, lol, that was for You Rick, lol!!!!!! I am buying gold now, not silver. I will continue my Silver Eagle collection, graded by PCGS, First Strike Flag Label tho! That’s a set I’m really enjoying and watching it get bigger and bigger every year! That set would hav3 a pretty hefty price tag if I was to sell it as a complete set! I’ll never be able to get the 1986 - 2000 in MS70 tho, unfortunately!!! The First Strike Flag Label is a non starter for those years for the most part. There are some MS69’s out there for a handful of those years. A few of those 69’s are priced fairly high for a 69. The only way to get First Strikes is if someone has a Green Monster box, still sealed AND there are dates in it to prove when it was purchased/released from the Mint to an AP in order to qualify for the First Strike. There might not be anymore out there making it impossible to have a complete set from 1986-Present. Not going to happen, sadly! If there were, who could afford them in 70’s??? A regular set in 70 must be $75-$100K+. That’s a bit “rich” for me plus My Wife would KILL me, lol! I get into enough trouble with her buying Gold! She about craps when I tell her the price of a gold coin I’ve bought! Speaking of the Wife, there’s a 2020 V75 Gold 1 oz PR69 Mintage of 1945 on eBay and it’s up for auction, starting at I think it was $13,999.99. She was actually going to let me bid on it!! As much as I want to, I’m thinking the upside for a 69 has about played out, at least for a while and I think I’d be better off purchasing 5-6 other 1oz gold coins for the same monies but I gotta tell you, that coin is one I really want! I’m so envious of you Rick (in a good way mind you) I will say, it’s just really nice to just know someone that’s got one, that he (you) purchased on the secondary market, held it for a minute before sending it into PCGS for grading!! The cherry on Top is it grad3d out as a 70!!!

Question to ALL, do you think the 2020 V75, mintage of 1945 coins, PR70, (pay attention, it’s a 69 not a 70) will go up in value much more in let’s say 10-15 years than it’s present day value of let’s say $13,999.00? I misspoke, that coin sold on 6/13 so it’s gone now!!, no longer available! I may end up getting me one eventually! I’m thinking $25K is going to be it’s plateau, what do you ALL think? I only collect 70’s, I made the mistake in the beginning of purchasing 69’s (silver coins) cause I was a cheap A** I guess, lol! That was a mistake on my part! If you’re going to collect, IMHO, only collect the very best PR/MS70!! That’s my lesson for the day, only purchase 70’s!! Always remember that, unless you disagree with me and if you do, give me your argument for purchasing 69’s. I’d be very interested in your reasoning, maybe you could learn me something, lol, notice my grammar, lol? !!!! Dang, I want this coin but in 70!!!! Should I cave and be happy if I have an opportunity for another 69? I really would like to get some feedback from My Fellow collectors here on this site. Thx! I appreciate any and all!!

Well, as always, Good Luck ALL!!!

Just received my Collectors Edition Guide from the mint and as I was perusing through it I saw the comment 'Morgan and Peace silver coins are highly coveted by collectors, and often sell out quickly.' If that's the case, why are the 2023 Proof Peace dollars still available? Could it be that I just don't understand the meaning of the word 'quickly', as stated by the mint. In 2021, 'quickly' meant 15-30 minutes before complete sell out of the items. Those 15-30 minutes were brutal on my fingers as I was feverishly pressing various keys on my Apple keyboard (multiple times as many of you know). Now quickly means what... ?? months before sellout. Of course, some smart lawyer opined to insert the word 'often' in to cover their butts. With 275K pressed for the unc. M/P dollars, I don't expect a sell out anytime soon.

I don't mind the 1st place ribbon or even so many different products. I think the windows of availability should be narrowed, ala the L&B coin. Get your ribbon here, but only for a month! Having collector coins available for YEARS after release is CRAZY!
