I hope so Rick. The collection I’m making is the 1oz medal. I only purchased the Navy 2.5oz medal as that was my service branch.

Can’t believe the meteoric rise in spot silver these past two weeks.

Folks keep buying the 2023 Morgan & Peace silver dollars. Don’t they know Mint going to produce 2024 versions?

Surprised of the little fanfare for this year’s commemoratives. Sorry Harriet Tubman and Greatest Generation, you two missed the COVID buying craze at the Mint.

I’m well into my 60’s and have been a collector since grade school. I recall things like looking through my dads pocket change and noticing fewer silver coins every day. A couple years later I actually witnessed the buckets of silver coins being sent off to the refiners out the front door of my LCS. No one cared what was in those buckets, only what it weighed. Then the wheat cents disapeared and I assumed then that coin collecting was coming to an end. Even I grew bored with the hobby. Then those pesky state quarters (my God, who is gonna collect all fifty) came along and guess what, we still have a hobby for KIDS!!! So collect mint products or don’t. Government is NEVER perfect but the US Mint saved this hobby. Prove me wong.

Fair enough. However last year there was $0 returned to the Government/me & you because of a push for unnecessary job creation within, hence overspending as the Government just can’t help doing, especially on themselves and their buddies–Pork City…
I’m imagining the Mint production facility looking like the worker guys on the side of the road–Three doing the work, and 5 others watching the workers as they pose. Same thing with the DMV all the way up to Capitol Hill–Spend & pose, rinse & repeat…

Ditto, what you said. Let’s see what the Mint does with the cancellations/return coins. Who gets those cancelled/returned coins if the public doesn’t? They won’t melt them, nope. In the old days the Mint insiders would give out special pattern coins and such to High Rank Officials, Congressmen, and the like–How about these days? I say yes!
